I think people who start NPD threads should be ass raped by the community. Me included. I like a good flogging with the dog. Err...but seriously. What the fuck is up with all these NPD threads? Isn't that why Muddy started the Gas thread???

Yes.
I am also sick of random strings of pedals being paraded as a board in the pedalboard thread. There should be a "string together a few pedals" thread if folks want that. Boards are fun seeing how people deal with the restrictions of a board- placement, selection of pedals, routing, and it shows how people prioritise their sounds, given those limits. A string of pedals negates all of these aspects.

Yeah, that's what I mean - the board thread is like "how the fuck do I deal with this?"
I get a lot of inspiration seeing how people solve this sort of problem. And fuck it, a board has to have a board!

DoS, you just need to thrash out more. It solves most all problems. Probably not going to shrink your peds though UG...

I can appreciate small pedals and boards. but when i look at a pedal board i don't see how the signal flows i just see a bunch of pedals. For me, well first I need to know what my setlist is.....then I like puzzling how to get as most amount of sounds out of my pedals, and that involves what order to place the pedals to avoid redundancy. on stage i'll lay them out as planned, but alot of shows are table top setups where i'll have to arrange pedals on a square table with enough room for a mixer. I don't think how short i can cut my cables has anything to do with that. :idk: i hope my postings not making anybody upset, actually i'm just working out new sounds for an upcoming record. we're gonna cut a 7" coming up, and there's going to be some kick ass 60s fuzz dripping everywhere thanks to these new pedals I've picked up.

if i'm pissing anyone off maybe a "setup of the day" thread or something?

Sorry for all the typos in the post you quoted - iphone is not conducive to good spelling.

I would never post in a setup of the day thread, but that's because my setup is really static - but it could probably be a cool thread for dudes like you who change things up. Hbombgraphics changes stuff up all the time as well - but I can't handle it - it would give me such a headache. As would setting up pedals on the floor or a table each night haha. Dunno how you do it man! But that's just the way I see pedalboards and pedals and stuff.

And it's just the way I see the pedalboard thread. That's why I posted here - if folks think its a problem then someone will chime in, or start a SOTD thread or something. Otherwise it's just me being an OCD-pedalboard-curmudgeon. Haha. But I didn't want to go in the pedalboard thread and be all like "fuck off floor string pedal dudes" - it's not my thread and not my forum, and I can't expect people to see pedals and stuff the way I do.

Apropos nothing: dude, you know your fuzz. You need to totally solve the anonymity thing. Maybe start an alterego just for posting your music - I'd love to hear your gear in a good recording context! And your taste in the what are you listening to thread indicates that it might not be 100% blues rock that gets jammed out, but maybe something interesting...

I know. Aside from just privacy and reasons stated, there might be some conflict of interest or contractual obligation? that can get me into...trouble? i know cats record under different names so they can jam with their friends on different labels, but i'm not sure about the internet and where what i'm playing stops being my intellectual property..... :idk:....honestly i didn't even want to be thinking about this stuff. just the fuzzz.

still plan on doing some clips of pedals i've been getting when i get around to it. blues rock.... i do love the BLUES. That music is an extension of jazz and which was a major part of my musical upbringing. but me, i'm .....experimental. i'm not afraid of a minor tonality over a major chord change, it just gets old.

PM me a link to your contract, I'll read through it and let you know if there're any legal ramifications which would prevent you from sharing some sounds with us.

Theres no need. Some people want to know who i am, i'd rather keep that private. Its irrelevant. Figuring out how to post videos with my iphone is relevant, and now i know how. Just need to do it.

I don't care who you are, I'm just trying to keep you out of trouble. You can mask out all the private info on the contract. I'll make sure you're not getting yourself into a legal bind.
