I want to buy GTA V but I really don't need to spend more time gaming.

Which would you play first?
Mass effect 2 or fallout 3?
Yes....I know.....way behind the times....

Really can't go wrong. I'd probably play mass effect 2 because you can have sex with everyone.

I think I started with 2, both are great games

I played mass effect 1and liked it. ...but no fallouts.
Both seem like really epic long games.
Just finished bioshock infinite.

So I completely misread your message
I thought you were asking if you should play Mass Effect 2 or 3...
I would definitely go for Fallout over Mass Effect any day. But I am a whore for the whole post apocalyptic wasteland thing
From what I remember of Mass Effect, it's a much more linear game than Fallout. They are both huge though

I don't mind rails/linear since I'm a n00b Like player.
My newest revelation was gaming alone in a room with headphones. So immerisive....compared to on the living room couch.

Jesus, I just finished ME2 for the 11th fucking time on Thursday. No exaggeration.
The 1st game is kind of necessary, because by the time you get to ME3 - you'll see that it takes a
massive amount of subtext and themes from ME1. That being said, Mass Effect 1 can easily be beaten in about 6-8 hours (or take upto 5 times if you want).

I thought ME1 was tight but the game ran terribly on my PC, don't play that game on PC, it's a lazy console port that isn't optimized for PC. I thought ME2 had better gameplay but I found the story far less interesting, and I don't remember why, but I didn't like how ME2 ended. I never played ME3 because it left a bad taste in my mouth. Never played the fallout games, I have found most big box single player games get worse as sequels for them come out. Exceptions being the half life series and probably some other games I haven't played yet.

PC People. I need a new graphics card. I currently have a Geforce gtx 460. I need something in the range of no more than $300 but that will still be pretty good for most games. Recommendations?

It's not totally lazy, they did make a whole new UI for the PC version. (although this kind of thinking then led to a situation where they wouldn't let you use a controller with any of the later games either)
It had a bunch of bugs though. When I played it through the weapons wouldn't ever cool down from overheating. So if that happened I had to switch to another one.
I actually thought it was designed like this (and that was why everyone was carrying around four weapons... ahah)
Been playing Endless Legend through the free weekend on steam. Have now bought the game, it builds on Civilisation style gameplay in some really cool ways.
GTX 970 would be enough for anything to come down the pipe in the next few years I imagine. You might want to wait until AMD announce their new cards and everything else gets reduced see if the 980 comes down a bit.
Just make sure you get a 4gb card. Texture sizes are getting crazy now that proper current-gen games are getting released.

Ughh, trying to replay Thief 4. I didn't really like it the first time I tied it, not because it isn't like the original titles - you have to make a Custom difficulty to turn off the bullshit HUDs, focus, detection parameters and waypoint markers.
Now it's a pretty rewarding Medieval Stealth game with annoying voice acting.
