I don't know, its kind of hard for me to get too worked up at a $300 dollar dirt pedal when many of us rock $200 dirt pedals. At a certain point, its like do you want luxury or do you want ultra luxury? A lot of us could and do get away with using a somewhat stock Big Muff for 100 bucks, but once you've made the leap to a $200 fuzz box, how much of a real jump is it to get to 300 bucks in the end?

I mean for the longest time I never thought I'd spend 200 bucks on a single function pedal, and now more than half the stuff on my board is like that. At this point If I found a $300 dirt box that made my dangly bits go funny I'd do it as long as I thought I wasn't being taken.

The Darkglass stuff is a hard value proposition for most of us in the US for sure, but there are definitely reasons why its expensive as it is.

lol. FUCK ALL Y'ALL HATERS. b3k is the SHITS. god dayum RUNNY shits. love that beast.

my outlook on shit like the B3k at 3 hundy or the Goatkeeper at 3 hundy forty or the TimeLine at 5 hundy after tax and shipping........ is that it's something that does exactly what i want for that effect type and i don't mind spending more money than some other options because i know i'm done looking around for the perfect [whatever]. i haven't bought an OD in a year i think. only trem i'm curious about is the Cygnet II whenever it drops. and i can't see wanting anything but the TimeLine..... unless they put out a longer one with more patch footswitches. of course if it doesn't complete fit what you're looking for i see how it can feel overpriced. but knowing that's the last OD money i'm going to drop? so worth it for me.

Have you tried the B3K yet? If not, I would be willing to send it to you to test out so you can see how fucking awesome it is. It is well worth the money.

Also fuck you MSU you bastard! You know you want the B3K to make that sexy tone stack with the Swell! YOU KNOW IT!!!!!! It's pure sex!!!!!! PURE!!!!!!!!!!! SEX!!!!!!!!!

Sold my GK head on TB in record time. I listed it and like an hour later had it on hold. Dude paid today. So awesome! Now to give Delta all my money. :grumpy: lol

I had a B3K. It got it's ass handed to it by The Elements and the Swell. Sent it packing. Now, that was back when I had that SS Eden head. With the Mesa and the 16 tubes rocking inside it, maybe the B3K would win the fight. It was a good pedal. I enjoyed it. Isn't anywhere near the almost $300 it goes for, but a good pedal.

It would be a good battle straight up against the Elemtents....since it's $100 more....I'll pass.

i was hoping Dougy at Darkglass could do a 2 channel B3k for me. that would be so much hot fire. but he's too busy right now. i love the grindy more subtle setting i leave it at most of the time, but with more distortion i can cop a low-tuned guitar sound really well with neck pups solo'd... i'd love to have the two options footswitch controllable without buying a second B3k. durn it.

You sissy!!!!!! Just buy both! Good God!!!!!

Actually I'd love to have the B3K, Swell and The Elements, but I'm a dirt whore. A dirty whore some might say.

No I havent had the chance yet and I don't doubt it's worth the money, though I'm happy with my current overdrive so it's beyond what I would normally buy for an impulse "just curious" purchase. I appreciate the offer to have you send it out, but I wouldn't want to deprive anybody of their favorite pedal, I sent out my Photon Fuzz and Octaver for a couple weeks and it was a dark time for me :;

Actually speaking of the Photon Fuzz and value propositions, the only reason I tried one out is because I got a sick price on one used. Knowing what I know now about it though I would gladly pay full price new to get it if for some reason it disappeared.

I love staying over at my folks' place. Lets me use the big amp late at night! I gotta say, I'm incredibly impressed with how versatile the TAFM is. This morning, I used the TAFM as a light grit in a church setting, tonight, was pulling off Young Widows type sounds with it. Nice.

Just got done with Jet Jaguar practice and can say....I will never need a B3K. Again, not knocking it, but with the right settings on the Ashly preamp and Mesa 400, it gets that same dark character but much fuller. The Elements going into it is so fucking hawt. I'm pretty sure the Swell I ordered (another overpriced one at $380 after shipping) is obsolete before it even gets to me. Kinda sucks. I was hot on that thing when I had that eden head but I just don't need it, now. The funny thing is I was about to flip the Elements when I had a SS head but it is a demigod into this Mesa.

The PPB from Behnder slayed at practice. It sounds 10x better in a band setting than solo. Fucking rocks. Not as smooth as I need for the original songs but I need that sound for a few covers. I'll try a Megalith at some point and see if it can cover both sounds I need, and if not, probably go with a PPB and another not yet found fuzz.

yah. the PPB is my "huh. i SHOULD be cutting through more right now" go to click on Anger Bastard. so good. i think with a Heavy Machine, TAFM and PPB i have more than i really need for live stuff. super happy with thems.

glad you're digging Pied Pickle. what do you think about the others?

behndy wrote:hurm. i'm going to have to diagram it out 'cause it keeps stumbling over itself in my head, but is there a way with a two spot bypass looper to nest a loop?

like loop 1 = pedal a, pedal b, loop 2 that has pedals c, d and e, back in loop 1 pedal f.

so if loops 1's on and loop 2's off it would go a -> b -> f, and then if you click on loop 2 if would go a -> b -> c -> d -> e -> f? i know if you could nest like that then 1 would have to be on for 2 to do anything.... but can you set up basic bypass loopers like that?

Early Morning Durpy Question is DURPY.

You can't put pedal F as the first pedal after your bypass looper?

yah. ideally it makes the most sense to me to have a footswitch that turns off everything, and a loop that pops in and out of the chain when a second footswitch is clicked on/off. but having loop be wherever i want in the chain instead of A loop running into B loop. i THINK a box like this would work, with a footswitch on the A/B side (thanks Dubbles!) and another footswitch for the loop.

Image

i can't think of a more elegant way to do that. murrrrrrrr?

well, color me dumb. all you need is an A/B looper that has an A send and return and a B send and return, and then you put f after both loops. unless you're absolutely Nazi about having to have everything out of the signal path, you're done.
