I'm picking one up tomorrow to run my dirt in parallel.
Is it worth it?

Seriously,...my LS-2 is my favorite pedal and it doesn't even make a sound. IDGAF what anyone says,....it takes a good pedalboard and makes it musical,...expressive,...USABLE.

Gripes I've heard from other people? I don't really remember because I disregard bellyaching. Yeah,...it won't do some things that people expect or want it to do,...but for the money,...it rules,...totes worth it. Even moreso if you can find one used (look on TB Classies or fleabay you could get lucky). I do recall some gripes about tonesuck but I've never experienced it,...in fact using an LS-2 to route my main signal improved my toanz. I guess a lot of people don't like that you have to cycle through A->B->Bypass,....but they are dumb and haven't figured at that if you set it up A->B all you have to do is make sure your pedals are off like you would normally to get to your Bypass,...no matter which you loop you might be in (does that make sense,...I'm sorta drunk).

If I'm reading you correctly; you are looking to run a clean tone plus a dirty tone at once, so essentially a clean blend? The LS-2 can do that on the A+B>Mix setting. But it can do oh so much more,....just experiment with the thing.

I originally bought an LS-2 to do the clean blend thing,...but discovered that clean blend was really my thing. At one point I had two LS-2s and used one for blend and the second for loop switching. My extra LS-2 I actually sold to ILFer Future Sailors.

Currently I have mine set up with two loops. Onw loop being the main tone loop with compression,...octave,....fuzz,...feedback loop,...I use it for my clean tones and my agro tones plus some synthy shit if I'm in the mood, The other loop contains my ring mod into my delay.

The nice thing with running two loops is that I can set tap tempo on my delay while my signal is routed through the main loop; then I can confidently switch over to the delay loop and not worry about whether or not my delays will be in time. Since I have my MoogerFooger Bass MuRF in the main loop (which is also tap tempo capable),...I can do the same when I want to tap tempo the rate of the step filters on that.

Beyond that I can also set my delays louder with the mix functions on the LS-2 so that the trails don't get overpowered by the rest of the band,...and it doesn't matter where the Mix is set on the delay.

Such a useful pedal,...and for emphasis sake TOTALLY WORTH IT,...BUY IT WITH CONFIDENCE. Trust me,...you'll find a use for it and if you don't immediately,...keep it anyways,....you'll be glad you did.

Had literally the best day ever, me and my buddy went to my favourote music store.
He picked up a Fulltone '70 and I picked up my LS-2.
We stayed for a couple of hours and talked gear and other shit, but mostly gear.
I met a dude from L.A who said he was into weird pedals, so I namedropped several ILF
builders and steered him this way.
So that was my first ILF conversion.
My buddy at the store may sell me his superfuzz, fuck yeah!
He has a bunch of moog shit too. So I may scoop that up.
I also got to bang some High on Fire with a motherfucking Travis Bean bass!!!
Fuck......just fuck. What a fucking sweet day.
Also, I get to romance my lady at a fire tomorrow.
Sweet shit.
I'm going to have a drink in the shower now.

Can't cause I've never used an Xblender. Does it do loop switching?

I'm sure it's a great blender,...but that's not what I'm using my LS-2 for.

;)
