I like the Krautster II from Nik Huber.
Around $3945 (still very expensive).

I'd have a hard time not getting a vintage LP Custom or a vintage Jazzy if I was going to drop that kinda cheese. Or a Fano maybe? That being said, I've never played a Huber. Sometimes the math is different when you've got the guitar in your hands.

'tis true. And while they were very nice to play they weren't something I'd pay that much for.

Same pickup configuration (p90 at the neck, humbucker with split coil at the bridge)... big fat neck...
What else on the market for a better price?

Swapped the neck on my Jazzmaster and put it on my Telemaster body, I wanted to play the Telemaster out because it's lighter!

Maybe check out Paul Rhoney Guitars? http://www.paulrhoneyguitars.com/
They're not cheap by any stretch, but not $4000 like a Huber either.

Seems like they're really flexible on options like pickups, neck profile, bridges and even scale length, so I imagine you could hammer out exactly what you want. Plus, they're pretty!

That last guitar I posted belongs to a member here I'm pretty sure. Tommasters if memory serves correct.
