this is what $800 gets you in MOTM DIY hell. those blue quad VCA PCB's were $50 each but they are super high quality and very few people have the first version large format L-1 boards. I need another $600 at least for panels and parts just to have a 1 VCO 8 VCA 16 attenuator system that does nothing but make the VCO sounds.
iiiiiii suck at keys. but i'm trying to do a little bit more shtuff that's either impossible or just too much of a bitch to do on bass. so i'm going kinda the opposite direction as espensive super modular things.
annnnnnnd if i dig Skully -> Deltz's Koma BD101 as much as i think i will i sort of want to get a second tier and that and a FT201 up thar.

Oh man, I hadn't checked the Dot Com site in a while. The Box11 looks AWESOME. I'm definitely going to have to go for one of those and ditch my current cabinet. (The dude I got the system from made the cabinet out of wood and, while more or less functional, it's very light and, with all all the modules on the front, front-heavy and prone to tipping.) That looks like an elegant way to house modules, and the built-in Multiples will free up a little space...

Yup, I was originally going to go with their 22-space vinyl cabinet, but I was concerned about lugging it around. So I found the Box11 and realized that it would be a lot easier to carry around two 11-space boxes than 1 22-space box. And the Box11 is small enough that I can probably find some ATA/flight cases that fit it if I start gigging with it.
And yes, the integrated multiples is sweet. Saves you 1u for every 11, which is nice.
And I just had a great night at the casino last night, so I'm going to be buying 3 or 4 more modules immediately.
Here is my latest plan. Just imagine these in two Box11s instead of a single case:

it's annoying 'cause i have about another 500 or so dvd's without cases that are s'posed to be in albums. but it's such a bitch to file them 'cause they're in staaaaacks that i dunno if i'll ever get around to it.
making the room for box filing GOOD.
hee. BOX.

My one and only photo post in this thread...because here is my one and only keyboard:
Playing it is pure fun, I use it for analog basses sound mainly, I have to try it through my pedalboard!!!!!! I found that one ten years ago in a sort of a garage sale, for 25 euros...the previous owner didn't know what he had and he was pretty sure it was broken... nah, it wasn't...
My synthesizers.com VCF and VCA came in, and my EG is coming in hopefully tomorrow. I really need to make some straight-plug cables, the right angle ones are a pain on a modular setup. But just these three modules sound fucking awesome when I run my bass through them!
Still waiting for the mixer module to come in, and I've not heard anything about my road case in about 2 weeks, but here is my modular thus far. Just added the LFO which while simple has proven to be awesome.

that mmg looks sweet! do you like it? the demos of it so far aren't doing it for me. was thinking about going with a wasp filter for my system.

I love it man. After being a Moog Low Pass dude for so long I was a bit hesitant to look into an actual modular filter, but I'm glad that I went with the MMG. The only thing I WISH that it had was a mix control, but I can live without it. I usually have stuff layered anyways (a 4 channel mixer is in the empty slot now) so it's not a super huge deal unless I was running just a 1->1 kind of chain.
The clipping is sweet, gives you a nice amount of grit and texture for things. The strike and accent inputs are really neat and make the filter dance. I've done a few variations of dancing with it, one being running the Stillson Hammer into all the CV inputs with the Q up high which turns it into a super primitive audiable step sequence. It's also been fun to feed super slow LFO's into the MMG with the resonance high.
As far as the actual filter goes, it's nice and juicy. The resonance is great. The range is awesome. Can't do super sub lows like the Moog could, but it can do really neat stuff. I don't regret spending the money on it at all!
