^ Well, obviously she needs money for movie tickets, hardware upgrades and sushi. Those are not free after all, and we can't expect her to live like a reasonable human being.

THIS IS THE LIFE OF A PROFESSIONAL INTERNETZER

gofundme is certainly an internet personality thing, and i've been against it from the first time i saw someone use it (it was a "professional" cosplayer, and it was for her boob job, and of course she got the money and the boob job). I'm sure there is someone using it in a decent fashion, but i'm never going to care.

i don't want to say it's right (or make excuses), because it's not (and i'm not), but when you get used to a certain style of living, especially when you are your boss, you all of a sudden don't have the real skills necessary to work a crappy job where you are far from the boss, but it can certainly be a humbling/learning experience.

she DEFINITELY needs that.

Maybe if you all figured out that in reality she really isn't all that interesting then that would happen...

What would happen?

Kickstarter backers refunded? contracts honored?

I doubt it would.

She's already declared that she'd rather "stay in debt forever" than get a regular job (roofing was the example job she used). Unfortunately, that doesn't address
that the debt is owed to other people.

She's done a good job of tuning interest in things like the kickstarter. There, making it seem less interesting has been to her tactical benefit.

"Evaluating both the data and the gaps, Diamond analyzed Miss Stern to be a fairly common sort found on the
fringes of terrorist action. Young, intelligent mid-American, cause-oriented. He knew the type. She would have
been a Liberal, back when that was still fashionable. She was the kind who sought "relevance" in everything; who
expressed her lack of critical judgment as freedom from prejudice; who worried about Third World hunger, but
shambled about a university campus with a huge protein-gobbling dog—symbol of her love for all living things.

She first came to Israel on a summer tour at a kibbutz, her purpose being to visit her uncle and—in her own
words quoted in a NSA lift from a letter home—"to discover my Jewishness."

Diamond could not repress a sigh when he read that phrase. Miss Stern obviously suffered from the
democratic delusion that all people are created interesting.

A good friend of mine just had a very young brother die across the country. Getting half the family there in time for the funeral was pretty cost prohibitive so a family friend threw up a gofundme for plane tickets. I was eager and happy to throw in what I could. Things like that make me glad such platforms exist.

It's really not surprising to me that people like Devi and "internet personalities" abuse such platforms. What REALLY surprises me is the people that will throw their hard earned money down the toilet at things like that.

We should all cross-crowd-fund each other so we can spend more time on ILF.

Man, having ILF become a label would actually be pretty sick. I would be all about that. 8D
