I haven't had a pedalboard with more than 5 effects on it since 2007.

I've been the same way. I just rotate a lot. Back then I think I boiled my show pedal board down to 2 (ring mod and mt-2).
Honestly if all I had was a ring mod and fuzz, I think I'd be ok haha.

Eau Claire Thunder vs TAFM. I really like the TAFM but I keep on finding myself looking towards the Thunder. Anyone tried both and know what's the good for bass?

they are both good for bass. the blend on the TAFM is really nice. TAFM has a lot of balls. the ECT is fucking gnarly. i guess this doesn't really help, but honestly they both rip hard.

I honestly don't know what the gate does on the one I am using right now. If it's the same other than that though I might get that one

The only differences are the gate and buffer in the newer ones. The gate should be pretty noticeable if you engage it with the second footswitch. Gates the level so notes don't fade away normally, they cut off sharp. The switch also maxes out the fuzz pot.

I had one for a while. Its a pretty good fuzz for the price. Synthy octavey brassy fuzz, and the squish knob does some cool stuff to it. I kinda want to try another one, actually.

The gate takes it straight to shot-to-kill-mode.
It is ixtrimli noticeable.
