Finished Heavy Rain about a week ago. Glad I played it, but definitely won't be replaying it. Been working on the God of War Origins Collection. Beat Chains of Olympus and about a quarter of the way through Ghost of Sparta. Then on to GoW 3.
But mostly I just wanted to point out that Kratos is the fucking Forest Gump of Greek Mythology.

Couple recent 'next gen' games that weren't too hot, imho, Spiderman 2 and Bound By Flame... you guys play these?
Anybody play the Outlast Whistleblower DLC? I thought it was pretty good, better than Outlast maybe..
I know we've got some Canadian gamers in here.. any fans of Pure Pwnage? They did a 10 year anniversary live stream today on Twitch and they're doing a movie this year too, man I love Jeremy! Teh Pwnerer!

I just want a nice mysterious open world RPG to steal away 60-70 hours of my life. Skyrim almost did it, but I get GAS in my RPGs and once I smithed the perfect pair of daggers and some badass armor, it got way too easy and seemed pointless.
Looking forward to some new Fallout though.
Dark Souls never did it for me. I play games to relax and unwind, not to burst blood vessels.

I'm playing Red Dead Redemption again.
I think it may be my favourite game of all time. Just about perfect in my humble opinion.
Prefer it far more to GTAV.
I'm on a general Spaghetti Western binge at the moment. Built up a Mosrite type fuzz yesterday on the breadboard and was twanging away for ours. Splatty Fuzz+Spring reverb is pure awesome.

I'm halfway through Whistleblower. I like it a lot. It's even more disturbing. I think it's an excellent DLC.
And I can't believe Pure Pwnage is still going! My brother and I used to watch them together eight years ago.

It's one of my all time favourite video games as well. I'm not sure what Rockstar are going to release next, but I doubt it'll be the follow-up to Red Dead Redemption. It could be a Bully sequel or something new entirely. I can't imagine them going back to Manhunt or Midnight Club, but maybe.

Great Game. I'm playing The Last of Us and feel like it's got a similar emotional content, even if totally different narrative.
Do you play the fallout games? Way more time spent in that universe than I care to acknowledge.

Last of Us is also right up there for me.
I agree that they both have a similar kind of feel to them.
I think games like that have pushed the platform from 'games' to entertainment.
Red Dead and Last of Us both have better writing, and a better narrative, than a lot of the dross Hollywood churns out.

As a spectator, I totally look for this as well.. an interesting for awhile but not forever kinda new world experience, that's my favourite thing. I enjoyed Skyrim a lot too.. and Fallout... maybe even more.

Dark Souls is that perfect world for me.. super mysterious and dangerous, the ultimate dungeon crawler in all 3 of its forms... haha I hear you though, what a stress-test!

Pure awesome for sure, I love those sounds and that genre.. always wished I could play some of that style.

It's even more disturbing, I agree! Super disturbing! I enjoyed watching the DLC way more than the actual game, better premise, better scares, more interesting, twas a gooder.
Isn't it cool that Pure Pwnage is still going! I've loved them for years too, so cool you guys know the show. Have you seen the season of the show they made for tv in Canada in 2010? It's just 8 episodes, very awesome, got cancelled though.
They put up this video yesterday.. Pwnage Transfer:

So true, for the last few years with YouTube I've found video games to be immensely more entertaining than tv or movies.. much more amazing adventures and experiences.
You guys hear about this? Gonna be so cool I bet!

I haven't watched Pure Pwnage in a looooooooooooooong time. I'm in the mood to reawaken the pwning side of me!
I'm surprised they're going to release Far Cry 4 this year. I feel graphics and PC power haven't taken enough leaps and bounds to make another one as relevant, but I do understand that to console gamers there have been huge leaps and bounds. Far Cry, to me at least, have always been at the forefront of what you can do in an open-world FPS, especially on PC. I won't say I have my doubts on this one until I see trailers and read about the story and characters, but they have rather large boots to fill after Far Cry 3, which was almost game of the year for me. People doubted it back when the trailer was released late 2011 because many didn't feel inspired by Far Cry 2, but I was stoked to see what they would do going back to a tropical island with such vivid characters, better graphics, a more immersive story, and ideally with all the flaws of Far Cry 2 removed, which for the most part they did.

It's nice to know the pedals we buy are inspired by dungeons and automatic weapons! Ha!

Massively inspired by dungeons haha! I've loved that stuff since I was a kid and the way it's brought to life in games today is amazing, it blows me away.
There's a dungeon crawler called Hell Raid that keeps getting pushed back that I'm excited to watch...

I'm glad when games get pushed back. It shows that the developers are willing to potentially lose money in order to make sure the game they release is up to scratch.

Totally, it's rare in the gaming world isn' t it! So many games get released with huge bugs, sometimes nearly unplayable with problems, with no apology even.. it's nice to see a gaming company take its time and not rush it.
I watched a really cool game last week, a blast from the past from the present.. you old gamers might remember a FMV game series in the 90s called Tex Murphy.. they made the last one in 94. It was a mix of point and click adventure, 3d world, and full motion video scenes.. well they made a new one! And it's cool! I quite enjoyed it:
