I'm hoping that you demo the F.O.A.D. by Lone Wolf Audio when that comes out. Wanna hear them darkthrone toanz. Also it'd be hilarious to see how it sounds on bass since I'm sure it is very lean when it comes to the low end...

I like it but I hate to say, the tone of the Frantabit is a bit better IMO. At least from that video. It has way too much background noise for my taste. Cool sounds though.

I hear ya, but I really like how subtle this one can get with the blend and the right settings.

Franta always seemed a little too uncontrollable, at least the way I was using it.

Hmmm...the thing that bothers me is the uncontrollable hiss. Now I get that most Bitcrushers are like that, but it drives me bananas. Almost seems like a flaw in the design of a bitcrusher in general. The Franta does it too and it drove me fucking nuts. I don't recall if the Geiger Counter did.

Is there a way to dial that out of the sound?

Yeah, it all depends on the settings. Just like a distortion... the higher the blend, higher the freq, higher crush settings, etc... all contribute to the noise floor.

I don't quite get why so far everybody in all the Bitmap demo's keeps the mix at full almost all the time.
The higher the sample rate reduction frequency the less it intermodulates and the purer / less intrusive it sounds in my experience.
Most bit crushing on the other hand always has a bit of a noise floor, the only way I know to really defeat that is to use a gate of some kind although most bit crushing inherently also has a bit of a gating effect.
