stacked flange? Interesting idea, never occurred to me. How does it sound? Like a flock of nightinggales throwing up?

Ok, i'm in the planning stage of a big big board (not really true, it is a complete setup):
Image
working should it like this: basicly i get the MIDI Clock from the laptop of the drummer. this syncs the lexicon jamman and the boss slicer. i play the basslines and loop them with the jamman running through the london city with a 2x12 cabinet. on the other amp i play everything else on top.
Signal chain may be like this:
guitar --> infanem second voice --> eqd bit commander --> (probably some more fuzz) --> smallsound/bigsound Year 4545 (or Mellowtone Wolf Computer) --> B.A.T. LSTR (or smallsound/bigsound blargg-o-tron-o-tron) --> mtl.asm white fritter (probably with expression pedal) --> mtl.asm wrong side of uranus --> (Volume Pedal?) --> eqd ghost disaster --> moog delay --> divided by 13 switchhazel -->
Amp A chain: Lexicon JamMan --> (probably a filter effect - ehx HOAX?) --> London City with 2x12
Amp B chain: Boss Slicer --> (probably a filter effect too - subdecay prometheus) --> divided by 13 JRT
i'm not yet sure about a "rock fuzz": right now the LSTR is sitting there for this.
Should i use a volume pedal: yes or no? also not sure yet.

That is just the first iteration. I also have to test is which sound will work. Confirmed is the second voice, slicer, ghost disaster and switchhazel.

I think I'm getting close to my ideal set up :idk:

Fuzzhugger Phantom Ring-- smallsound/bigsound Sparkle Motion-- Noisemaker Effects Noise Invaders-- Catalinbread Manx-- Dwarfcraft ECT-- Snazzy FX Mini Ark-- Dr. Scientist Reverberator-- Frequency Central Atomic Clock delay-- ISP Decimator :yay:

The Phantom Ring covers my octave and glitchy fuzz desires (especially in tandem with the Noise Invaders ). The Sparkle will probably just always be on for adding some sparkle and hair to cleans or boosting my fuzz. The Manx is for sale but if I find I can afford to keep it I will because it's a very versatile muff and I quite like the lead tone. The ECT is my favorite fuzz, huge and thick and the feedback loop rocks. I use the Mini Ark for all things synthy or just weird shit. The Reverberator and Atomic Clock should create some awesome atmosphere and the Decimator gets rid of noise from all the fuzz being turned on

I guess I just want to add a heavy, doomy fuzz to compliment my ECT, something a little more abrasive but still having a ton of bass. Maybe I'll add some kind of phase/flange for swirly swooshy stuff but otherwise I'm almost set. I need to be if I want to stay in college, no moar GAS plz.

I know this is the standard advice and might sound lame, but have you tried the TAFM? What you describe is what it really excels at in my opinion. Being a bass fuzz by nature it will retain and emphasize the Ooomph. Then you can dial in the clean volume which, when you stack it, will allow for the nature of the fuzz going into it be retained. It really has a lot going for it, even though I'm kinda growing tired of everyone shouting SS BS whenever someone asks for a fuzz recommendation.
Earthquaker swirly swooshy is all pretty awesome. But I'd think the swirly swooshy department is where you can score some nice vintage shit from eBay pretty easily. Got a Mini Fazer for 30Euro the other day. From the demo I've heard it sounds extremely nice and I have actually paid more than it's actual worth. Thinking of modding that thing.
@Gearmond: Interesting sound, kinda like some Mid-Fi pedal. As soon as I get it, I'll try running the Mini Fazer into the Grand Orbiter.

Middle Earth Crisis and I are doing a temp trade so I can try out the TAFM, it certainly has been on my radar :omg:

I haven''t found any demos of it doing anything doom stuff though, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough

It will most definitely be a Sparkle Motion, probably not in treble boost mode though, darker for sure :thumb:

Did this still in my pyjamas! At least this was a good bait so that I finally get up. Gotta got to work...
The recording turned out a little worse than I had hoped it would. It sounds a lot fizzier on here than it sounds in real life.

I dig it :thumb:
Thanks for the clip, that was pretty quick!

So would you say the TAFM stacks pretty well?

Excellently. letting you balance the Clean Volume and the Fuzz from the TAFM works a little bit like that mixer on the DE Silver Rose. Just that with the TAFM you can't mix two distinct fuzzes but it's a mix of (in this case) Ruckus and Ruckus stacked with TAFM. Pretty sweet. Of course this is not all it does. Mixing a primarily clean signal with some fuzzed out shit in the background can be pretty rad too. And I set input gain cranked and the shape (tone) about 9am, so it would be bassy and correlate with the real time over here. Lots of sounds to be had.

I can't wait to try this out, thanks again!

By the way, checked out your band OWWL, normally I'm not a big fan of ambient/drone music but I really liked it :thumb:

Also, the album art is seriously awesome!
