Agreed.
MORE footswitch access, MORE expression control of MORE parameters would have been ideal.
That way the feet could trigger/change/mangle the loop while both hands play the guitar.
Its the signature pedal of a tabletop knob turner guy. Outboard foot controller use was hacked in as a necessity to appeal to normal people but I doubt it was ever a main focus of the design. They added switches on the side of the pedal to avoid having to move to a larger enclosure.

Don't be a child. I own a few Chase Bliss pedals (Tonal Recall and Brothers see the most use, but I also have a Gravitas, Spectre, and Generation Loss on my current guitar board and an Ayahuasca destined for a different board down the line), and I get some great fucking sounds out of them, but I also make extensive use of their on-board features... because I'm not afraid of my gear.
7/10. work on the condescension some more and you'll be right there. i'm not "afraid of my gear," just disinterested in spending more time programming presets that often have no practical application than, y'know,
playing.
Hey Woolworm this is how you should react to stuff you don't dig with respect and tact not this trivial childish BS.
2/10. why be respectful to someone you think unworthy of respect? must i be nice about Moscow Mitch?
Ahh yes you should be able to slander CB because you think they swindle people my bad
try to follow this carefully: criticizing. a business. or. its. practices. is. not. "slander." if it is, all us Behringer-haters should shut right the fuck up. under American law, you can't "slander" a corporate entity despite
Citizens United.

If he has a right to bitch about CB then he should expect that someone will disagree especially when its childish and trite.

seriously, what is it to you that someone doesn't idolize the newest shiniest thing to come down the pike at $500 a pop? a bit, erm, invested, are we?

High fives, all around.

So, I'll be completely honest. I've tried almost all of the Chase Bliss pedals, even some limited ones (going to get to fuck with the Zvex one soon too!). I feel like some of the pedals have been great but then others are just not what I expect from Chase Bliss. Which is weird because originally I wanted them to make a reverb and it would have had to been digital to work (or so I was told). So, it wasn't an option.
I hate bleep bloop pedals to death. I tried enough of them to last me a life time. Don't like it. I don't even really like glitch pedals to be honest anymore.
500 for anything is an investment and I feel like those price points suck. Are they deserved? Maybe, I guess? I can't really answer that. Not up to me to decide. It still a bad price point and why I have not tried the last four or five pedals unless they've been used.
I also despise drop releases and refuse to buy from them. It's a bs sales tactic and it's obnoxious. That's not selling to make music. That's selling to make money. I want to buy something that has heart in it. That whole sales tactic feels tacky and gross to me and I'm so sick of it.
Anyway, blah blah blah.

I get that CB pedals aren’t for everyone (I don’t have any) and it’s fine to criticise and rant but you certainly don’t have to be “invested” to find most of the op’s posts in this topic pretty lame and childish...

The "not afraid of my gear" comment was actually a snarky reference to Woolworm's condescension, not an earnest comment. Sorry if that wasn't more clear. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to spend hours configuring pedals, much less think they're afraid of anything for feeling that way. Hell,
I don't want to spend hours configuring pedals, but my brain makes me do it. I just wanted to call attention to the fact that the author of the "stop being afraid of your gear" thread, in all of its self-congratulatory naïveté, seems oblivious to the fact that these pedals cost so much because they're feature-packed for control freaks.

If it makes you feel any differently, Chase Bliss feels the same way. After having both their Gen Loss and Fuzz Factory collabs sell out instantly, despite their attempts to anticipate demand, they've sworn off the practice. It doesn't seem like they quite realized how badly they were fueling secondary-market flippers and general feel-bads, and they're trying to make amends. They're even doing a second run of Bliss Factories at some point.
