Yeah, there's a classical builder who's built "the darkest sunburst ever".

I can't remember who it is though. :idk: Maybe it's this guy, but this's all I could find:

 I didn't - I just assume you love shit like that. :p

In the category of bursts, this is the fabled "Sunburst" no? Like in the Titan up yon?

How 'bout this? Do I detect a little little bit o' 'burst here? :idk:

Yeah, about that Standel, there were some wild guitars produced in the Sixties. :hello: :trippy: :hobbes: :!!!:

What is that knob/switch placement though

yeah - I see this a lot lately, and I don't feel it either - zero advantages to be had afaict. Although this might be a mite better than the ones where vol-switch-tone are fully in-line and close together, if you like to use your tone control at all (assuming the tone is the one at the bottom). Seems like at least hear you won't be accidentally knocking the switch out of position, but then again, this way's gonna mean a lot of reaching for the switch. :idk: I guess I could get used to it, but also, I'd probably end up swapping things around or even drilling a new hole if I otherwise was in love with the guitar....

and that's all I have to say on that...which is...way too much

I meant more aesthetically. Ergonomically, at least the switch is out of the way which is a bugbear of mine. But IDK something about the positioning just looks.... slightly off to me? in a subtle way

It's kinda like this switch placement:
