Yep, the pds8000 was on my radar for some time. The Dod is a smaller footprint alternative though.
But I dont think the pds is always listening, or is it? (here we go again, ha ha!)

IIRC, it does! I remember even the pds1002 does this, its funny how just sounds like an audible sound edit both on and off

I had another question actually the reverse on EHX16 second... if you leave it recording does it really do reverse delay or can you only reverse the direction of the recorded loop?

Oh ok, good to know!

only reverses the direction of the recorded loop... There's no reverse delay per se on the 16s.
(the bonus sounds are rather to be found with the mod section, nice chorus, gorgeous vibrato, and many shades of that...)

interesting, I wish there were some way to put this feature in the dfx94

Well of course, none of the pedals discussed here would come close to a Mechanical Sun...
Ok, just teasing...

No. But you can trick it by setting the Blooper to act like a delay with a long delay time, and turn the volume down. Then forget about it and turn the volume back up if what you're playing inspires you a loop...
But then of course, it's not a spontaneous workflow, and Blooper is stuck in delay mode during your whole set, which is too bad. (Once you have locked the crazy loop of your choice, you can modify it in a certain way with Blooper, and in (another) certain way with the 16ssd. The results will be different, different beasts.)

(As a side note, I'm getting deeper into Blooper these days, it is an amazing thing... limitlessly expanding on what you're feeding it... )

I see, you gotta use it like a normal looper to get the most then? Ive seen some demos and the destructive effects on it seems really cool

Oh I think there's so much going on with that pedal that each player will find his own way to get the most of it! For me, so far, yeah, normal looper + modifiers is my main use. The delay side of it is a big plus, like having a delay pedal included in the package.
But I guess you could see it the other way around: you have a fantastic delay pedal, with tons of modifiers to turn it into glitch delay, reverse delay etc...

I've just tweaked the dfx's internal trimpot for delay time. Now it's 6.5 seconds... getting closer to the PDS! It really opens up the game...

youd need a MIDI controller but instead stopping/bypassing I bet you could just send a MIDI cc to change volume

Not exactly a 16s dd, but similar workflow, inspired by the Lexicon prime time. The delay's core tone and mod section sound rad in the demos. Maybe more "polite" than a 16sdd, but very interesting:

ps: I've given up on trying to embed a video. Youtube button doesn't work, the url minus the "s" trick doesn't work either, I've just tried all the links and tricks available...
