Korg’s 2600 is insanely priced for what it is. If the 2600 didn’t already exist and they announced a “new” synth with this featureset, people would be confused that they’re charging this much. Given its feature set it shouldn’t cost anywhere near that much. Also, the last version of the 2600 that behringer teased could be rackmounted in a normal 19” rack.

Honestly, as cool as their new synth designs are, I just want behringer to start releasing the synths they’ve already talked about.

Just to spark some discussion, what do you think the Korg 2600 should cost? I'm not being defensive. I just want to get a dialogue going for others to chime in on.
This is a big part of consumer synth culture now. So many facets effect price / consumer expectations. I think it would be a good talking point for this thread.

The moog matriarch has more features, and it’s about $2k? So, I’d peg the ARP 2600 around $1k to $1.5k?

If you want to build a TTSH (2600 clone), the full parts kit with PCBs, panel, and case costs $1,949.00 USD, and you'd have to add your own keyboard. So currently, anything less than that would be a bargain.

That site also sells the pcbs for the 2600 for $500. A parts kit for the Deckard’s Dream is $1600 and they charge and extra $1000 for a case and pcb. https://synthcube.com/cart/ddrm-deckard-s-dream-kit

While I don’t claim to have a deep knowledge about electronics, but if the arp 2600 has 1/4 the components of the CS-80 then I would expect a parts cost of at most $400. I think $1k-$1.5k for a company that benefits from economies of scale like Behringer or Korg is fairly reasonable. At the very least I wouldn’t expect it to cost more than $2k.

The limited edition part is what screams "collector bait" to me - if $4k was the only price they could make it at but they thought there was a real market for it, why limit it to 500? It's the synth version of a $6k Slash Les Paul aimed at aging Gen Xers.

Everything limited edition in the music world gives me the heebie-jeebies (special 'colorways' like you're doing a fucking hypebeast Supreme collab).
