Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It's growing on me more and more with each lesson.

The people who take all the 'iommic life' shit seriously are kinda annoying, but like...I've always taken the band to be more than a little tongue in cheek. FFs they were writing songs about druids in the 90s. The dad-joke weed pun lyrics on this record are absolutely next level hilarious, which is proof to me either that they're self aware and having a bit of fun with it, or 'Weird' Al Csisneros really is absolutely that cooked IRL. Not sure which I hope is more true tbh, but either option is awesome.

This is poetic gold and Sleep is the only band that can get away with this, imo. My final conclusion on The Sciences is that Sleep has returned to remind us that we only ever needed one weed-enthusiastic sludge band and that band is and shall remain Sleep.

Bongzilla and Weedeater would beg to differ.

Weedeater mostly makes puns about coke and "Jason... The Dragon" lol. But yeah Bongzilla is like the OG of this shtick.

Wouldnt be surprised. In general it feels like its a good summer for music.

They mentioned it last time I saw them live too. But that was a while back. As long as they play here again and I’m good.

I’ve listened to it at least twice a day every day since it came out. Exceeded my expectations. Al’s playing is fucking unreal. I thought his playing might be more restrained and repetitive like Om but having Pike there to hold it down Al really lets loose. And finally a studio recording of Sonic Titan.

I put this on on a recent business trip and it was a really terrible trip until i turned it off and listened to podcasts instead.
