Hell yes? I'm still in awe of the Roland V-Accordion.

About 60-something years too late to cash in on the craze though.
I liked the Sandstorm, but wished it had a bit more in the way of features.

Joke or not, I still pine for the never produced Zvex SnowBox, but I suppose the cost to produce outweighed the intent/actual interest (besides me)
The LAL Sandstorm tho...

I called zvex about this maybe two years ago. They said they’d suspended plans. Big surprise.

The Sandstorm needs expression control to bring the white noise in and out. I had asked Hirofumi about this awhile back and he seemed like he thought it was a good idea. Alas, no go unless you mod it.
"As for modification of the Sandstorm. So it means simply to have an expression input jack for the “effect level” control? If so, it is possible. I have never thought about the idea. I thought the envelope function would be for guitarist, and the infinity function for table top noise musician. Originally there was no “infinity” switch because it focused on guitarist and didn’t think just a white noise generator was attractive for them. But it was very useful for myself as I do the "table top" style so I added the “infinity" switch for me (since then the Sandstorm is one of my “can’t live without” pedal). Then thought maybe it would work for many table top noise musician, and they could make the sound that you wish to do with an expression pedal by hand. But yeah, I really love people’s creativity that is out of my thoughts (not very good anyway). ;-)"
EDIT
Shit that was 2 years ago. lol

I have a Copilot Arrow Airwaves incoming since way earlier this year. I've also been tempted to get a RMA Crustacean. Similar (not the same) ideas?

i rep. the crustacean HARD.
it is the PERFECT noise generator IMO.
it does white noise, it does crackle, it does trogo type noise, and it does it all well.
he does custom builds too, so if the base model doesn’t do what you need, he can probably make it happen for you, (given extra r&d time and extra $ of course, but he’s a great dude to work with)

i for one would like to see effects with un-necessary tape loops in them (but delay can’t be the main effect)
like a phaser that outputs the phases signal to to a 4 track recording head, and reading heads that can pick up the signal in 4 different places....

I missed the KMC Gonk blowout by a day. You have no idea how sad I am.

I think the Airwaves is like the LAL Sandstorm, in which there's a VCA available for dynamic utility. The Crustacean is just a source, and while a range of permutations does exist, I have not yet settled on a VCA stage that I hold dear. It's in the works, but I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere for the time being if dynamic manipulation plays a big part in your work. Additional utilities are in the works, but it's a slow process. I think the only leg up the Crustacean has is being able to inject the external signal into different points of the noise engine and the variable crackle.
Anyway, you're still waiting on the built out Monobius, I'll let you get a taste of that before Crustacean.

Thanks man, I'm slow.. that's something I'm working on, but I appreciate the kind words.
Regarding looming gear trends, I hope for/expect the following:
More modular inspired external control utilities on garden variety stuff (like CV bias adjust, etc.)
Digitally controlled analog signal paths (this may as well be a subset of the preceding statement)
It's still a bit early for reverting to deeper exploration of paths previously abandoned as obsolete, but once someone nails the tech to print out PN junctions on a small enough scale to DIY IC packages we'll see a flood of wacky shit. Probably spearheaded by video synth jockeys wanting to roll their own Sandin or Paik/Abe synthesizers; and on to goons trying to resurrect old Yamaha CS stuff that was plundered for OOP.
Dirty and sloppy oscillators that still somehow pass as a usable VCO.
More shit that amounts to oblong training wheels for mainstream commutes.

The end of those ugly af white washers on footswitches. Seriously. Fuck those.

Guyatone uses glow in the dark ones which I thought was nifty, but I'm not sure if I've seen anyone else do that..

They come with almost all stomps you buy though!
Although there are replacement ones or you can simply drill tighter holes and put them on the inside.

90% of the reason to buy softswitch only is that they don't have those washers. The updated Earthquaker looks so pretty now
