Brent seems like a shadow of his former self which is sad as fuck man. Like I said, used to LOVE Mastodon. Love them. The whole auction things with all his gear made me lose respect for him, plus the shittiness of the new music. I mean, listen to Emperor of Sand versus Remission or Leviathan. Good God...it's terrible. LOL.

He seems like he's got to be on drugs or something. I've seen this too many fucking times from musicians. It's sad as shit.

It's terrible though. The singing is just awful. It's so different than it used to be. I mean, they aren't alone in that realm, I just hate it.

That being said I think professional musicians are meotorites entering the atmosphere. They burn bright.. but it's a lethal trajectory. Nothing lasts forever and I feel like Hind is just a classic example of what rockstar excess does to a human being. I mean I've rocked some drugs... but yeah he's pulling a Syd Barret .. And will soon think he's a glass of orange juice or some shit.

Spec'ing a custom guitar from a company that makes custom guitars is not "designing" a guitar.

If in marketing the product EGC used Hinds name, Mastodon's name, or anything copyrighted that relates to Hinds or the band, then that's a no-no, legally and ethically. As far as the "design" of the guitar goes, though? Nope.

When Clapton specs a strat from Fender, that becomes his signature guitar. Maybe this dude thought he had an endorsement/artists sig model deal and got fed up when he found out that wasn't the case.

Every interview I've seen with this guy gives the impression that he is obnoxious and braindead. Stealing a design that is made by tons of manufacturers which were "stolen" from a 50s Gibson design? Pffft.

I'm super late to this. But I'm pretty sure this was offered as the Brent Hinds model for at least a couple of years before they re-did their site. I understand why he would be upset even if its just for something simple like Flying V if his name was being used to sell it and he didn't get anything in return. But I'm just wondering why bring it up now in a poorly written instagram rant? Maybe the plus side of all of this is people will realize EGC is kind of a sketchy company. Maybe it will lead to them not fucking over people as much.
