Ah yes. Fuckin time zones. I’ll keep hope alive though. Between work, family, and music, I feel like the only way I can squeeze this in would be through Roll20.

Definitely more manageable.

I just started my first campaign (5e) back in July, and our group has been meeting every Sunday since. I’m almost embarrassed at how emotionally invested I am with the game at this point, but let’s be honest, it’s fucking dope.
Just played my first game of Numenera with my housemate DMing and some of his gaming friends also playing. Seems like a fun system but we had a hilariously unproductive session, split the party constantly to do stupid stuff, ran away from things like brave sir Robin, someone jumped off a 50m high bridge....

I love Numenera. I feel like characters in the system have just the right number of options for most people. They feel like they have a variety of things to do without causing decision paralysis. Lately all I want to do is play the Star Wars RPG from Fantasy Flight, though.

Yeah while I like D&D and other more complicated systems the level of options in Numenera was nice to just jump into. I also really like that (at least the way our DM interprets and ran it) you're encouraged to take risks and use all your options, sometimes the pressure to conserve X spell/item/whatever for "a really important situation" can be annoying.

I know your kids aren't high school students yet, but because I'm subscribed to the Psychedelic Cherry (whose video I posted above) and she just started doing D&D videos, I keep getting recommendations for other D&D videos. This was one of 'em:
Awesome! Thanks chank. I’ll check that one out.
Started Adventure Zone this morning.
Pretty funny.
Should fill the gap between Nerd Poker and Harmontown D&D.

Dan Harmon might be one of the least likable people I have ever chosen to listen to repeatedly.

Haha, yeah...pretty funny...it definitely won't turn out to be more than that...
The thing is about Dan Harmon is that he hates himself more than anyone else could.

That's true. I like him. He's painful at points.
I've been playing 5e a bit with my boy (the girl is not interested) and he's diggin it. It's kinda lame though because I am very poorly DMing, and playing two other characters. But he's still enjoying himself.
I've softened a lot of things for him because seven year olds don't make great decisions, nor do they listen much to the sage advice of their companions.
