I remember having the MD-2 as my main distortion pedal on bass and did like the sound enough. But I always thought it was lacking something, I paired it with the marshall guv'nor (believe it's the second version, the one with that weird silver enclosure) and both had me pretty content for some time. But to be honest, I always thought I needed something with more low-end and moved on to other pedals. TBH what I miss most about that dirt pairing is the Guv'nor, not so much the MD-2.

Marshall is the Gibson on the amp world.
This is a super confusing analogy because Gibson guitars are sweet.

gibson can't setup their own guitars worth a shit and often times forget how to make them. but sometimes you get lucky.

Bass is actually the only instrument I use my Guv'nor for. Seems to work surpisingly well with bass :idk:
Mine's the old UK version though, fwiw...

Why would anybody piss about with low-end usa Gibsons when japan has produced nothing but consistently great versions of those guitars for years. Much better value-for-money.

who are you???? an alterego to bossman? i wasn't implying shit about low end gibsons. i'm talking about their standard usa lines. and fuck japanese copies. the only ones worth while have set necks and weigh more than a les paul custom.

I dunno, just see a lot of people moaning about modern Gibsons (at all price points), when for the price of a recent studio or something you can get an edwards or old Yamaha that will probably be better. I'm not gonna pretend to be an expert on Gibsons (I'm not really that interested in them), nor am I gonna wax evangelical about mij copies beyond saying that my experiences have been positive.

Yah but Gibson plus MT-2 FUCKING NAILS that Journey lead tone.
This course, a perpetual alternation of determining what is true, and then setting aside this determining, constitutes, strictly speaking, the steady everyday life and activity of perpetual consciousness, a consciousness which fancies itself to be moving in the realm of truth.
