What was wrong with the boutique series? Just curious cuz at one point I was entertaining the idea of getting one.

I've actually mostly heard overwhelmingly positive reviews of the JU-06 and JX-03, but the limit of four voices seemed arbitrary and limiting (and like a sort of obvious cash grab) and it did take them a full year to implement MIDI CCs.

Four voice is set by the price point and what the DSP can handle realistically.

I don't think it was a grand cash grab.

They were fine, just really lacking on features, like MIDI CC. People were clamoring for that for a while because the keyboard you could get with it was a joke.

Most reviews I saw of it were positive, although I did read more than a couple people saying that they had a problem getting them to sit correctly in a mix. Maybe that's something you figure out yourself :idk:

I don't disagree, i was just positing the reasons other people have disliked a synth i've never owned.

I played all the roland boutiques and the arias at NAMM. They all had this kind of pristine sheen or premixed reverb spatial sound I didn't like and made them sound more uniform across the board. Like they were made more to compliment a home computer setup than live use (sound wise). It could have been the headphones/amp too though and that could have also been the way they kinda dialed in the way they wanted to be presented.

Anyway, I didn't really dig them. They felt quality enough though and were kinda fun in the moment.

I've heard good uses/mixes with the arias live too. I think, like anything, it's just about how you use them. Then again, I'd find a way to make an fb01 or cmu800 interesting...it's all just waves fit for manglin'

So basically 3 new boutiques, the TB-03, TR-09, and the VP-03. Looks like ACB.

302, 909 and a System 8, which looks to be a pimped out System 1.

The TB-03 doesn't look quite as interesting as even just getting a Cyclone TT-303 to me, let alone the Twisted Electrons Acid 8. But it does have built in overdrive and delay, which should be required on 303 clones these days, lezbe-real here.

Well the Boss GT-1 is looking pretty great...like a pedalized GT-001 with the exp and switches built in. :yay:
Wish there was a way to fast forward and rewind this shit though...

Yea, there was a static page with a photo earlier but everything redirects to the stream.

Will have to see what specs it has.

If it's another GT-100/001, can't say I'll need it (since I have both already).

If the GT-1 keeps the programmable external footswitch and adds an fx loop, that's huge. If I was a performing musician I'd go for it in an instant. As is, I'm cool with the more limited 001.

Was a standalone unit with integrated footswitches and a small expression pedal, bigger than the little GP-10 but not by much it seemed.

No specs or other info.

Photos from the livestream look nearly identical to the GT-001's LCD, which means no FX loop (which the GT-100 has).
