Yeah when I do like chorus for my own personal use, I tend to keep it super subtle. I've said more than a few times on here that my fave setting for the WV is pretty tame, but adds this excellent sheen to things. Almost sounds like a 12 string. Byrds-y. :thumb:

Or if we're talking 80s emulations of Byrds-y toans, should've said Paisley Underground :p

I have the opposite feeling about chorus from this thread's question: I've found a lot of use for chorus recently but I hate hearing it the way most others seem to use it.

i'm sure chorus on electric bass is directly correlated to an increase in homicide.

I abuse chorus when I'm trying to be Siouxsie and the Banshees. Viet Cong also has chorus down. I like chorus.

Unfortunately for me it's most fuzz that isn't "hairy distortion". Sucks being an od and dist guy in the land of fuzz, but I just can't ever make fuzz sound good unless I'm playing bluesy garage riffs.

I also saw limited use for tremolo until discovering the tremolo reverb effect on the Zoom MS-70 CDR. It sounds much more 3D, sonorous, lush, ans spacey than other tremolo effects I've tried. Ring mods (other than an intelligent ring mod effect on the Boss GT-8) have been similarly challenging for me given issues properly tuning them, and I tend to use digital sample rate reduction instead. It took some time to find the right Muff subtype, but I think the violet ram's head version is the one for me (provided there is a mid boost option). The great Rat quest will likely begin in the coming months, and, unless I score on the first go like with the ARC Effects Crimson King in my Buzzaround search, I anticipate similar frustrations to those noted above and periodic flipping when tinkering with various builders' wares. Chorus is kind of questionable at times for me, too, and I'm currently using a Mooer E-lady flanger for psuedo-vibey, swirly goodness.

Galvar wisdom.

The anti shred sentiment around here is quite disgusting.
It'd be nice to see more acceptance of the shred.
And you'll notice that the shredders aren't all dumping on your shitty jangly chorus doodlings that are a nostalgic throwback to a period most of you that emulate it didn't even live through.
:p

Chorus and flange don't have to suck.
But most of the time they do.

Thurber, fuzzstortion and ODs are the best man. I'm right there with you.
Do you Ape Blast?
It's the fuzz for people who want distortion like clarity and punch from their fuzz.

I partake in some shredding from time to time, nothing wrong with some flash. It's got its time and its place—sometimes it fucking rules to just dial it back a bit and play in service of the song, though. But then again, sometimes the song wants you to shred, and shred you should.

I wanna know if Thurber uses the volume knob with fuzz. That's everything if you ask me.

Yeah it's quite a leap to extrapolate *anti shred sentiment* from a declaration against weedily-deedily, chorusy 80s shred soloz (with too much wah as well I'm looking at you Kurt Hammett) :idk:
But since it's been decided I'm a *shitty jangly chorus doodlings* guy and not a *clangy chord and ringing feedbacks guy* I'd better trade in my Dickies and Chucks for some fecking Dockers and boat shoes :trippy:

You guys live in a world of butthurt.
Read your previous statements and then look at the inconsistencies.

Then, more to the point look at my user name, read my post again and have a giggle.
