Underrated band. Have a lot in common with Adbisi Shank, who are also awesome.
Glad to be reminded of Storm & Stress, too...never heard their stuff because it was so hard to find. Probably super easy now! I used to keep an alphabetized list of bands I wanted to check out in my wallet so when I passed a record shop I could just breeze through it looking for good stuff. Then someone broke into my car (I don't miss you at all, 8 Mile), stole all the music and speakers I stupidly left hiding under a seat in broad daylight in the middle of a crowded parking lot...also tore the car up looking for drugs. Least I assume...it was an ancient VW Beetle, and it looked ripe for the pickin'.

Mono and Mogwai? The whole Neurosis-side of that sort of listening is still alive and well, too?

Jakob and Russian Circles.
Doing the same shit over and over though.

I suspect a visit to P4k's top albums of the year will produce at least a half dozen post-rock-meets [blank] offerings.
Folk, edm, trap, animal collective...etc

Numero is having a Bedhead sale on their entire reissued discography through Monday (10/31), in case anyone here hasn't already totally converted and/or wants to continue to get their Santa on

If it wasn't for the fact that I have $25 on me right now I'd would buy it on sight.
Any reason why they are nuking prices?

I was worried about that, too, but then I remembered.....it's Halloween?
Also, not much on Numero goes OOP, except for their limited vinyl-only releases, so no worries?
They also do some year-end sales (the 12 Days of Numero) on a majority of their catalog (though they skipped last year in lieu of a warehouse sale prior to moving their HQ), JSYK

in to throw some shit-kickin' post rock bands for y'all
Shy, Low-I first saw this band in 2014 and basically felt like post-rock was over at that point. I was wrong. They do EITS-core but like actually compelling and amazing:
https://shylowmusic.bandcamp.com/album/ ... position-2
Paucity-What if Robert Fripp chilled out and hooked up with Camel. Meal is MAD SICK:

Atsuko Chiba-this band is fucked up good. live they tear the fabric of the universe apart and put it back together do not miss their next releases:
https://atsukochiba.bandcamp.com
Staghorn-look this is probably pretentious beyond the pale but I will never not love a band that does spoken word about mankind in a post-apocalyptic world protected by a bunch of deer on top of radass post rock. Also they put on a fucking SHOW and have impeccable taste in gear:

this band definitely has that similar Battles thing where they operate at the intersection of mathy rock & electronic music.

i'm enjoying it on first listen. in addition to battles, i'm hearing some 80's King Crimson, and even hints of minimal electronic stuff like Mr. Oizo.

^that. They put out great records, especially their later ones. The first album was kinda boring IMO, but tunnel blanket is a fantastic record.
