KungFu Rick is great. HeWhoCorrupts is fun live but I don't care for them on record, I guess. Saw them at Dudefest 08 and 09. It was tight.

Used to play with one of the guys who was in Chiodos Bros., before they were Chiodos. I don't think I had a driver's license yet.

JR Ewing was/is legit. I have Ride Paranoia and Mælstrom 12"s. Would like Moving Units Dangerous Dreams (still a fun one to listen to), but that's not even in the same class.

This thread brought me back to being 20 and coming out of the closet super hard. Thanks, y'all. Can't remember the last time i thought about The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower or Cutting Pink With Knives. The Locust and Blood Brothers come up more often.

Also, props to Suis La Lune and La Quiete posts.

Plot was an interesting band to watch live. Singer made people so uncomfortable.

I also just remember this music - and its subsequent effects on punk and hardcore fashion/aesthetic/sound - being very present in a formative part of my younger life. Although I naturally enjoy all those bands, esp. Loma, who I hadn't really given a chance until I joined ILF.

I loved Loma Prieta and Suis La Lune and La Quiete, but that shit felt a little too late and a little to "respectable" to be white belt.

I think I saw He Who Corrupts' first show. My band played with them on tour in Chicago (in 2002, maybe?), and I was told by a few people that it was members of a bunch of other local favourite bands, but their first show with that band. Anyway, I've never worn a white belt, but there's a fuck of a lot of bands I know and love in this thread. I'll post some others later.
