See that's the wrong kind of thinking though! You have to be persistent and believe yours in the best and better than the rest! :) hahaha

Nah, I know a lot of people don't like what I like. Shit I can't find anyone to go to concerts with like ever. :(

Styx are awesome. I never have any problems with letting my dad rock flag fly.

When I was 17 I had a summer job with a small roofing company. My supervisor would play Styx greatest hits, stand on the tallest point of the rooftop with his arms in the air and shout "STYYYYYYXX!!!!" into the morning fog. That's pretty much how I feel about them to this day.

[tfw everyone in Styx is better at their instrument than me]
No. That's 55 seconds too many tbh.

I'm with jwar here. Robbin The Hood RULZ. Great skating music.
Any of ya busters hate on Pennywise's About Time WE MIGHT HAVE TO SETTLE THINGS ON THE FUNBOX.

I would def rather listen to live Sublime than live Styx 10/10x
One of the more underrated rhythm sections tbh and def instrumental in me asking to borrow a bass/take it up.
Lemmy, Eric Wilson, Scott Lafaro, Jaco & Claypool. And unknown-to-me at the time, James Jamerson. Had no idea he was the beast on my fav Motown rekkids.
But I digress...time for a new tangent.

Styx fans & Sublime fans both make me want to not listen to their idols. But not liking something because other annoying people are insufferable about it is hella immature & petty. Letting fans ruin things for you is goofy mentality.

You can have your opinion and I'll have mine. That's cool. Doesn't mean yours is right though. Just remember that. ;)

I'm not gonna lie, I saw Collective Soul live in 2006 and they were pretty decent. They didn't have a string section so the guy used amp feedback to simulate the sound of strings for "World I Know."

The following songs are pretty decent: "World I Know," "Why Pt. 2," "Where The River Flows," "Shine," "Heavy," it's just such gratuitous bonehead hockey-game-intermission riff rock, and I love that. It is what it is. It allows itself to just be the platonic ideal of music that people learned how to play on silver Ibanez guitars in rural trailer parks in the late '90s after they'd moved on from Nirvana but weren't quite ready for Coal Chamber and Hed PE yet. And that's okay. Good, even.

Also they were, like, one of the very first "Are they a Christian band? Or not Christian and just have lyrics about God and stuff?" alternarock bands and that's a long, proud tradition at this point. "We're Christians in a band" mmhm okay

I'm with Jwar on this one

Dude Collective Soul has a ton of talent. I don't care what anyone says. They are a great band. I need music that makes me smile sometimes and relaxes me. I save the growls for the gym.
