The EQD shit just seems boring and rehashed shit from times before. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, just tired of the same old, same old. OH! The Darkglass stuff intriques me too! Doug is coming out with a bunch of shit he told me about a few years back. Which is exciting.
I thought the Night Wire was going to be an envelope follower when I saw the frequency pot, but then when I noticed the frequency switch, I started thinking it would be an oddball modulation device. Based on this short demo, sonically it sounds like a Vox Repeat Percussion, a wah, and an envelope pedal thrown into a blender. It's got that vintage Vox chop, but it's also got that whizzy, vocal-like growl. It may not suit people who already have these individual effects already, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear it in action.

The Night Wire is a feature-rich harmonic tremolo. What is harmonic tremolo? In short, the signal is split into high pass and low pass filters, then modulated with an LFO that is split 180 degrees. The Night Wire takes the traditional harmonic tremolo a few steps further by allowing the center point of both filters to be adjusted for different tones. The filter frequency has three modes: Manual, LFO and Attack. In Manual mode, the center point can be set to a fixed position with the frequency control. In LFO mode, the filters are continuously swept and the frequency control adjusts the speed. In Attack mode, the filters are dynamically swept according to pick attack and the frequency control acts as a range control, much like a standard envelope filter. The tremolo section has two modes, Manual and Attack. In Manual mode, the speed of the tremolo is governed by where the rate control is set. In Attack mode the speed is controlled by pick attack and the rate controls the sensitivity; the harder you pick, the faster the rate and vice-versa. The tremolo can be subtle and shimmery or full-on throbbing depending on where the depth control is set. With the depth set to zero, the Night Wire will act like a fixed filter, phase shifter or envelope-controlled filter depending on which mode the filter frequency is in. It also features a cut/boost volume control to get your levels just right. Each Night Wire is hand made one at a time in the moonlit village of Akron, Ohio.
AGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH! Why did you have to post that! Now I have a huge boner for that damn thing! OMG that sounds amazing. Fuck. LOL. Sounds like a trem and phaser mixed in one!

Avalanche run has a reverse mode, swell delay and verb mode and sound on sound style looping, mentioned in the extended product description. I'd post it now but I'm on a bus and my phones trash.

REVERSE! LOOPS!

Definitely loving that Spires. The Night Wire is cool, but I don't think it will replace my chop modded gravitas. They're different enough where owning both would be cool, but I don't feel like I have a need for that many tremolos.

Avalanche Run
Stereo Delay and Reverb
Ship Date: March 2016 Exclusively through through Reverb.com
MAP: $295.00 USD

The Avalanche Run is our first product built on a high powered DSP platform we have been working on for a while now and we couldn't be more excited! While this may make an appearance at NAMM, it is still in the development process. The Avalanche Run was designed to satisfy all the requests we have received for a stereo and/or tap tempo version of our wildly popular Dispatch Master. While it is a delay and reverb just like the Dispatch Master, the style of delay and reverb is quite different. The delay has more of a tape quality with bucket brigade sensibilities and the reverb is adjustable while having more of a deep, plate-like cavernous tone. Here are a few feature teasers to wet your whistle:

• Reverse delay mode
• Swell delay and reverb mode
• Tap Tempo with subdivisons
• Assignable expression control
• Tails/True Bypass modes
• Sound on sound style looping with adjustable length in tails mode
• Auto oscillation by holding down tap switch

We intend to launch this pedal as a Reverb.com exclusive in late March and give a full scale release to the rest of our wonderful dealer network in July of 2016! Stay tuned for more details!

about EQD Spires....

How come people will buy that nufuzz clone but wouldn't buy one made by the circuit creator? He did a run of them and they sound great..[it didn't sell out]..I just think it's weird because the nufuzz isn't that popular.

Plus, ghost/ian does a neat nufuzz/fuzzrite combo...I think he does great work too...but he isn't selling in the volume of EQD...just an odd addition to their line.

Mildly interested in the new boost though.

I love the el capa looper to be honest. The way it degrades over time and you can fade out loops etc
Only thing I miss about it but yeah

TF can do the fade out thing and you can map the expression to control the FILTER and make the loops darker, just do it slowly. TWSS.
Using the 48s for MAX LENGTH will make your loops more lo-fi too...

I have no experience with the Capistan but if it works like the Akai Headrush then that degradation thing can be nailed within any delay mode in the TF too, the downside is that the max delay time is 3 seconds.

It's because most pedal buyers don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the FX universe. Why are people suddenly enamored with flanging and granular delay? It's because their favorite brands are producing them. It's certainly not like people are turning on satellite or Web casts and being inundated with nothing but flanged, granular-inspired music. The pedal industry really shows you the power of marketing and correctly targeting your audience. Packaging and presentation are a paramount component of commercial success.
