I think my goal might actually be to dial it back a bit. I've come to realize that live, no one notices the differences in which pedals I use. Like at all. I've played the same set using my full board, others with just an ocd and delaay, and even others with a muff and eq for solos. No one seemed to notice. I dont remember which pedals I used to record the album so... Maybe I'll sell everything and just use a rat and volume knob. Idk. I sure don't need $400 of drive pedals

Committing to a limited pallette. 5 pedals...fuzz, CT5, wah, delay/looper, BitQuest. Tele, amp. Record more drums. Get started on a respectable but modest modular system.

Want to start writing real songs again instead of just recording aimlessly. Use my 4-track more. Make an EP or something. Get some new pickups in my SG. Buy an RM-1N. Play faster.

You could combine the fuzz and wah and get a Four Eyes.

I respect people's commitment to small boards. For my current band I do everything I need with a Blower Box and an oscillating fuzz, though I am the bassist, and guitar and synth are both using bunches of delays, so I get less space-y than I would in other musical settings.

Would be pumped to know what you discover. always looking for alternatives to the HM-2. Also, really pumped on more one person death metal projects. It's like my current goal to write some weird pseudo death doom on my own.
repoman wrote:Start building my own pedlols

And tying in to the HM-2 thing, really want to start building my own pedals. Have already started, but friend and I are talking heavily about really tryna make a go of it. I have an idea for a self oscillating death metal style distortion, but not sure where to start for the clippig section. Otherwise, I also really want to up my modulation game. I have fucked with some chorus pedals, but that modulation quest thread makes me feel like I've seen nothing.

To that end, things I have to pay for:
New run Count To 5
Ezhi&aka The Tape and Moomindrone+
LAL Misty Cave

Things I want to at least try bc I'm a sucker:
Everything LAL, Sandstorm, Super Oscillofuzz, Octavella, Toxic Plant, SPKjr???
Wizard of Pitch
Dark Star
Charlie Foxtrot
F13
Like, literally any phaser, flanger, chorus, vibrato, or tremolo that is interesting or outside the box or has a lot of controls
Mother 32
Iron Ether Oxide, Nimbus, and Polytope
A super fuzz or fuzz master clone
More delays always
The first (semi-)original circuit I design in my bed room. Particularly the filters I am breadboarding soon.

BUT BUT BUT most importantly I want to get better at writing drum parts and write and record one song per day in February for my town's One A Day.

I just want to sound like if you took Comus, Six Organs of Admittance, the folky side of opeth and the microphones; then smash it against Hurtbreak Wonderland era World's End Girlfriend. Is that too much to ask?

I have shit I've written for the past 5 years that I've saved for this idea and I've never gotten it off the ground.

Gear:
Bass VI
Peavey 2x15 or Build a Greenboy design
Science Mother

Personal:
Record and put out something instead of just trashing it
Start building pedals again
Take lessons and work on technique more

Make more music, record things and try and get back out playing if possible [been a LONG time].
There's are always a few things I am looking out for, but really goal number one is over shadowing gear lust. There is plenty I want, but I am feeling a lot less manic. If I can't make the music I want to make, with the gear I have, I should sell it all, and become a philatelist...or just smoke a ton of weed...

Don't really want or need anything and all I really use is a delay and a distortion anyway.

Would be nice to get a good powersupply though. I'd like to repair my PRS then flip it and buy an SG

this thread has really got me thinking hard thanks gang

-buy less
-only pedal i think i want/need is a zvex ringtone
-evaltuate the pedals i have and potential use/overlap
-sell some stuff but dont be too eager to sell just for the sake of selling
- get a coiks DC10 (or some other good powersupply if anyone has any recs)
- get a proper board
- start a band
- play shows
- write more songs
-start playing solo shows too
- maybe buy a drum machine
