In the same vein as DD2/3 there's the DSD-2(3), it's basically a DD2 but with a trigger input (that can be used with either CV or audio), can be great if you have something to trigger it.

Obscura: analog -> not to compare with my Diamond. Tape: I had plenty of tape emulation, Digitech's one isn't really good. Lo-Fi is cool though but not what I'm seeking for. Reverse is not a thing I use in a band configuration. I like to have a reverse to play with it in my bedroom but here it's only 100% wet, I love pedals that can do 100% wet but such a pity that you can't control with the level knob if you want your dry signal with it. + I'm not an aficionado of the artwork + the knob for the time isn't easy to set.
I never felt attracted by the Flight Time, maybe to much screens and not enough knobs

Guess that scratches the DMMwH of my list too than :/
I lost count of all the delay pedals I tried that sounded fine at home, but when push came to shove just didn't sit right in the mix for whatever bizar reason
I'm the same when it comes to reverse delay too: Useless when you can't dial in the reverse repeats like with a regular delay imo. Fun for a while when noodling on yer own, but rarely useful in a band/song/live context.
Flight Time: If anything, it's the looks and old school displays that appeal to me

Looks like they ripped in out of a -ahem excuse me- THE Delorean

I count 13 knobs on there btw, but I guess you mean switches and/or controls instead of those little knobbies

To each their own I guess. The FT-1Y sure is pricey for something that basically does one job. It does it extremely well I'm sure, but I'm personally not in the market for a premium niche pedal that focuses on pristine hi fi digital delays

You could pray to the pedal fairies that some person will list a skychord cloudbuster on the bay or verb for under 300...why did you dislike the tonal recall?

The first one I receive was defect. Joel sent me first new chips. Then a brand new pedal. The second was better but it was to discrete (number of repeats + volume of the repeats) + didn't like the tone. If I set it past noon I didn't like the gain on the repeat. I mean gain on repeats makes it lofi and cool but here it wasn't musical to me. To me, the best things on this pedal is the modulation part. But for the modulation, I preferred what I got from a Warped Vinyl. I better maked use of the dip switch on the WVmkII too. So, I sold it. I can understand than people like this pedal but it was too expensive for what I used it for. And I tried the Diamond which sounds incredibly better (I mean just the basic delay sound). The CBA had a pedalboard friendlier size but yep, there are ton of fans but in the shadow people who didn't like it (and I've few friends who think the same but don't claim it on TGP).

my biggest issue with the chase bliss stuff was the learning curve, I have no desire to look at a manual to know what a switch does, I don't get enough playing time to learn them,
My go-to delays haven't changed in about 5 years however,
Standard setup is pitchfactor and Echobox pre-dirt
Timebender and DL10 if I need it Post dirt
that's about it have bought and sold too many to count and always come back to this basic setup

Has anyone mentioned the Behringer Vintage Time Machine? Was $69 and is really pretty great. Like the Old Memory Man, it has big knobs and a swimmy sound. I like the preamp of the VTM as well. All the way up gives a great bite. Pedal sounded good on its own but I liked it in the fx loop of my Q Tron+.

I feel like those hit triple digit prices pretty quickly once they became discontinued.

The Behringer VTm is really cool. So is the SMMH.
I just couldn't justify keeping either one because of redundancy.
Weird about that Tonal Recall issue. My first was awesome, expecting the same from the second. Also contemplating ditching the Echo Degrader for a Nemesis. Think it would be awesome to have 3 analog presets and 3 digital... we will see!

for me the only reason I sold my el cap was for the much simpler ILFDD. It just gave me fomo not using all those features, but I never had to.
I could get by on an el cap easily, or a dig or brig for that matter.
Either way, if you detest strymon get an in limbo 3 and be done with it. it's bootiful.
I was actually just thinking about getting an el cap to pair with my limbo 3. El cap would bump off the disaster transport jr... but if el cap and limbo and DR jr are all similar, no reason to do that. Especially when I'm pretty dang happy with the DT jr.

I've entered a new quest too. I ended my analog quest with a Diamond Memory Lane 2 (there are too me no better analog on the market, just different). But I feel quite limited by the delay time and number and volume of the repeats before it goes into oscillation.
I first had a look at the Capistan which has been for a long time on my wish list but never tried it. But recently thought that a great digital delay could be cool for my needs (Post-Rock band) and was looking at the DIG. Few years ago I had a Timeline which I appreciated but can't remember that I could achieve the sounds the DIG makes.

5 pages, and no mension of the RE-20?
I guess the 'always on' buffer/preamp might be a required taste, and I read some complaints about noise here and there. But other than that, it seems easily available used, and I'd think it could cover a lot of tape-esque ambienty grounds, no?
I'm personally about to sell a kidney and go with a Limbo III + Avalanche Run combo

I actually just traded my Limbo III, and got a CT5 which I instantly sold because there was no way I was going to truly use a pedal that experimental live with no presets to recall. I like the Limbo III a lot but just like more Moog delay before it, I never used a lot of the faculties on it, I really liked the modulation but I did think it was really quiet/dark even with the tone cranked. It sounded good playing by myself but I found a used DM-2 for a good price and bought it. I really enjoy the basic tone a lot more, don't miss the modulation at all and realized that I don't need more than 300ms on an analog delay. Not to say the Limbo III isn't fucking awesome, just I didn't use much of it to warrant it, I did think that the run away oscillation switch was fucking dope though.
I also use a Boss PS-2 for lo-fi delays, the only thing I wish it had was tap tempo for them. I sometimes think about changing it for another lo-fi digital delay since I use less and less of it's pitchshifting since getting the H9 Max. I just can't let go of the PS-2 after using it for 4-5 years.

Interesting. I thought the Tonal Recall was too dark for me—did you try it? I'm waiting for the next batch of Limbos, curious about how you'd say yours and the TR compare if you've played one.

I haven't tried the tonal recall. I really don't like the format that chase bliss has with putting as much as they can in a small enclosure. I think that it would benefit greatly from being slightly larger for those with big feet like me. I'm not trying to save so much real estate, but I figure others don't mind having a switch in between two stomp switches on a tiny pedal, but to me it's awkward. Either way, I could try it to compare it to the limbo III sadly I don't have it anymore so it will be all from memory. I definitely found it way darker than my DM-2, very similar to my Moog pedal, but it seemed quieter, even when I cranked the volume it didn't get as loud as I remember my Moog or the DM-2.
The modulation it has though was really cool though, I really liked the pedal, but I found it to disappear at times, but it was nice for ambient like pads and stuff.
