Not every fuzz likes every amp. Tone stacks, speakers, etc. have a real impact.

It's why the first question when someone asks for a generic fuzz recommend is "what amp are you using?"

Blanket "Do SS amps take some fuzzes badly" answer would be "sometimes" but that's true of tube amps not responding like I like (especially ones that aren't stupid clean) with most fuzzes I cherish.

No idea how the Superfuzz in the various Silver Roses though is accurate versus an original or a couple of the clones I've tried.

I'm not a fan of the circuit in general.

im really happy with it as my couch rig

i still only play loud through old SS 70's randalls
not sure if they actually "sound good"
but theyre cheap and clean and loud as fuck
copies of fenders of the same time
i loved the acoustic 150
but i ended up choosing randall for kaboom

anyone swapping tubes on micro terror?
got recommends for more cleans?

I cant remember if mine had a JJ in it when I got it, or if I swapped the original tube for a JJ, but knowing what I know now I would have put a Tung-Sol in it.

I bought a 12AU7 for mine, but I've never put it in there. 12AT7 probably works well, too.

Yeah, mine came with a JJ 12AX7. Gainy, but so nice.

I have more or less the exact amp rig as ryan, except for his kick ass cab. old randalls (or I can really only speak for the ones with the orange stripe) are great pedal platforms.

I'm running a micro terror into an Emperor 2x12 as my living room jam aswell. I've tried out a few different tubes and have settled on a Tung Sol 12au7. Seems like a smooth tube and the increase in headroom was noticeable.

Picked up an Ampeg SS-35 recently extremely cheap, and really happy with this solid state beauty. Nice clean channel, and also the same grinding distortion you'll find in the other SS series amps. It also offers 12" speaker, reverb, headphone out, etc. Been really happy with this combo and another option to look into for solid state goodness.

I'd second the Ampeg SS amps from the 80s - SS-35, SS-70, SS-140c. I'd also throw in the tuck 'n' roll Kustoms, particularly the later metal-front models (usually labeled "150," "250," etc.) and the second series of combos (Hustler, Commander, etc. but not the single 12 model!) The Kustoms don't do any distortion on their own but they love pedals.
