Was Caesar's salad really a Caesar's Salad or do you think he went for something lighter with maybe a Vinaigrette dressing?

Vinigarettes are lazy and overused. And most of the time they suck. Oh hey you mixed in fruit juice big deal. Caesar dressing takes actual talent. Also its good on anything. Fries + bowl of caesar dressing is how i got by on bullshit cafeteria food for 4 years of undergrad.

Bro i know this but its delicious and refreshing and good with fries and on burgs and on dogs and on shitty steak from waffle house and on chicken strips and on sandwiches.

Which brings me to my other point. Pie is great. Cake is horseshit. Why is it that with pie you can have a giant pie or a little pie and they both taste great....but with cake only cupcakes are good?

Also dude ALSO DUDE theres pie with beer and steak and mashed potatoes and shit in it. And it is also good. I cake with steak and shit would be gross as fuck.

In conclusion:
Pie>Cake.

Thank you.

You can't argue with an Anchovy either which why REO Speedwagon is so much better than Rush.

Hummus is great, vinaigrette is okay but I agree it's too ubiquitous these days, caesar dressing and/or salad are the bee's fucking knees, anchovies are awesome, pie is awesome, cake is okay, burgers are awesome, hot dogs are awesome, pizza is the zenith of God's creation, chicken fingers are a close second.

Re: cake specifically, I have a recipe for a "wacky" chocolate cake (no eggs) that I have made over 100 times. I used to live in St. Andrews, NB, a hippie mecca ever since the influx of draft dodgers, and some dirty patchoulis moved out of their apartment and threw a bunch of books out (sidebar: clearly, they weren't intellectuals). One of them was a vegan cookbook and I took it and the only recipe I've ever made from it was this chocolate cake, but due to its inclusion, it is my favourite cookbook.

But really Chinese food is my bread and butter. I go to this place in Montreal, Restaurant Beijing, and the hot and sour soup is so good I could pretty much eat it for every meal for eternity and be okay with it.

Re: Caesar's salad, it was invented by a Mexican chef named Caesar. Salad wasn't a thing in the Roman Empire. Ironically, despite SPACERITUAL's assertion that vinaigrette is just thrown together, that's exactly how Caesar (the chef, not the emperor) invented Caesar dressing. Anchovies, garlic, blah blah blah. It was literally on the shelf in front of him. (So the probably half-apocryphal story goes.) I used to work in restaurants a lot and we'd always toss that story around (pardon the pun) whenever we were experimenting, like, "Hey, you never know... this is how Caesar salad was made!"
