Here's a trick I learned just recently, works for Imgur links and maybe for others. If you put a lower case l, just before the .jpg in your image link, it will format the image to the correct size for ILF. I'd been here a few years before learning that trick. And I still don't have the knack for embedding YouTube after all these years I still have to quote someone else's link to see how they did it, lolSomnambulance wrote:How do I post pictures on this site though? Re: Pedal Breeder Thread
There's definitely a different feel here.
We tend to be less pretentious, although at times it still happens. Even I can do it without thinking about it.
We don't typically gang up on people like childish cock suckers but when we do it's because they are an asshole and the collective whole can see that.
You know. Unless I'm just having a bad day and being a dick anyway. ahahahaha.
We show love to each other and are generous in it.
We have a Secret Santa every year, talk openly about our emotions and problems and give each other guidance when needed.
This place is ten times what Talkbass could EVER hope to be.

It means, I would ban him but I no longer feel impartial so I'm asking someone else to look at it.jwar wrote:grygrx wrote:I've moved the decision up.DrewM85 wrote:Yeah I'm still waiting to see if I get bannedSomnambulance wrote:Whatever, talkbass mods are MTF cunts. What is your point? You realize that there are LOTS Of builders here. Granted this is a fun forum, and should be taken as such.
That's why we love it. Like I said. There's not a lot of pretentiousness with moderators who have a God complex. We speak openly and don't have to fear the hand of someone's bad day banning us from a forum.
Tom is the most even handed guy on the planet. Unlike 90% of the mods and admins on TB.

Re: Pedal Breeder Thread
The business of talkbass, is talkbass. It is the primary source of income for Paul, it's his playground and his rules.
The business of ilovefuzz is builders building, selling & trading, and fooling around. Covering costs and supporting the community is probably all that matters to Tom, hence a different approach.
I love it here too, Talkbass has always been a little stuffy for my liking. Effects is actually very loosely moderated when compared to the rest of the site, at my request, and if I can't keep that under some kind of control it will be 'death from above' under some of the more heavy-handed moderators.
In this particular case, we have a group of generally harmless but immature folk that seek out and intentionally try to goad and harass people in another sub-forum. This includes general mockery and failure to treat others on the forum 'as people.' The entire thread in that section was made up of a small group poking and laughing at others, joking about how they were totally going to get banned, and how it would be totally worth it.
I'm sorry that some folks only have 'fun' at cost of others, but blatant behavior at that level is a thing that Talkbass (and any forum) should have zero tolerance for.
That said I think you are mistaking what 'even-handed' means. If the rules are strict, and you get punished... that can still be even-handed, ie everyone getting treated equally, it's just totalitarian
