Yeah, ios is starting to catch up on midi to where I had hoped it could be 4 or 5 years ago when that Line 6 i-midi thing came out--might be time to look into what it offers for midi control over my Moog MP201/CP251 combo or the Korg SQ1.
And I didn't know that about the BITquest--that's pretty cool!

'sanybody have a take on how the crazy-cheap closed out Akai Headrush 2s function as stutter/glitch sources? The fact that there is looper functionality + multitap makes me think it might be so....

I don't think so. I didn't like the headrush 2 when I had it...it was kind of boring to me. It was a pretty straight forward looper or delay which was nice but not really my thing. I do like the hold mode on the boss dd-6. Never thought I would say that but it is quick and loops fast.
Been running the Trogotronic 666 as my carrier into ringmods....turn the blend to half way, signal surrounded by glitch...kinda neat.
I think I may have made my CV switch work as a CV controlled tap tempo for things like the boss DD-5 or whatever. So I can take an lfo with random and have a random tap tempo without stepping on it. Or controlled by something like the volca beats trigger out so that you can glitch it by turning a knob. Going to get the DD-5 probably saturday or monday to test.

You can use your left foot to hit the record switch and your right to hit the play button. It's not so hard to get don cab's stutter.
For glitch stuff just put everything on max and mess with the knobs once you play something while being in digital or tape mode.

With CO in that I have: Sick Pitch King, Moog (though it is still down and I made it worse yesterday like an idiot), Carlin, Metasonix TM-1
That I don't have, but wan't to try: Lovetone Ring Stinger, Frantone Glacier, Maestro, EHX Ring Thing
I think I am going to keep the DD-6 stock...it's kinda fun...
Raptio is ok...fun for a bit, but I would probably take a dd-6 over it...but raptio has that raptio sound (it is much more blended and has the nice thing having volume for dry and wet both offering a slight boost, plus continuous mode...now I want to get it out and jam but I gotta hook up the dishwasher). Possessed I like, but I haven't used in a really long time...
Sometimes it is fun to be the carrier instead of the signal though.

Mini footer is a crier in? I've just been using that for an expression pedal.....

Nope. I was thinking moogerfooger and just typing like an idiot. My mind is going screwy like an idiot. I'm kinda not myself lately. I just want to try one, but I forgot what I was talking about half way through///sorry about that

lordgalvar--thanks for the ringmod rundown! I think I really want an MF-102--it just seems like it sounds great and is musical with range from relatively pretty to fairly nasty. Most importantly, I think once you graduate MF102 U you're ready to make some intelligent decisions on what you really want in a ring mod. Until then, I'll suffer through with a Vitruvian and ol' Randy.
Also agree that the pure sound of the Raptio outside of functionality is super enticing....

So. Crackle sources.
Seppuku Memory Loss
SS/BS Fuck Overdrive
Strymline
Zoom MS-70CDR and MS-100BT
Hexe Melusine
DBA Reverberation Machine
Behringer Virtualizer
DIY (make a crackle loop on a looper)
Sonic Crayon Vessel's End
Industrialectric Echo Degrader (just not mine so much

)
DBA Reverberation Machine
Seppuku RadioFreq (nasty PLL sputter division)
MASF Biloma (see above)
LAL 88 (it goes on b/c Lord G sez so, but I'd love to hear an example of its crackliness--off to utoob)
DE Test Pattern maybe? (who if anyone is building these now?)
Basically a lot of devievers incl. Synth Mangler, OK, that one with all the switches (even more than the test pattern)
Anything with an SHO style circuit where the circuit re-biases as you adjust so you get a crackle + a TIP 3rd Hand or an Option Knob
Boss DSD-2/3 w/ bleedover from trigger in
What else? Help me make a complete list fellow glitchnauts....

Seppuku RadioFreq is the winrar of crackle.
Industrialectric Echo Degrader too.
Sonic Crayon Vessel's End has it's own crackle knob that is just ridiculous.

MASF Biloma will crackle a bit. LAL 88 can to.

2 great pedals--if I'd got my hands on an 88 instead of a Cyber Psychic I'd still be holdin' that.
Biloma sounds like seriously nasty digidistortion--I like! Nasty static bursts.

Can you use any LFO to do that or do you need a specific box to make the voltages work for tap tempo?

Thanks meng--you're a gentleman and a scholar.
List amended.
I wish my Degrader made more crackle--as it is it makes plenty of static, but it's more uniform white noise, rather then the randomized poppy crackle I hear from Memory Loss f'rinstance. I wonder if the crackliness is build dependent--Andrew has mentioned that the sonics can vary from unit to unit because the circuit is sensitive to parts tolerances (I think?)....
Definitely hear the crackle in the decay of the RadioFreq--I usually think of that as sputter. Semantics. It's less useful to me though because I can't slather it all over the background of my sound--it disappears while the plluzz takes over everything and then barges in at the end of phrases. I want a crackle that sits in the corner mumbling crackily to itself while the guitar strings conversate. But I didn't say that, so bad me, and it goes on the list (same for the Biloma).
