I am broke as fuck.
I want to buy a Matamp stack and Verellen stack.
I could literally not afford one of those little belt buckle Marshall "stacks" like Jack Black uses in School of Rock.

I am appalled to say this, but I picked up a few dream pedals after the holidays, and I have a few dream guitars, and haven't felt that fire for gear burn that hot. More like a fire to play better…

There are a few pedals I am always on the hunt for and have some funds ready to go, but they are super rare.
It's kind of horrifying. I played what in all senses of the word is a dream guitar this weekend: mid 60's pelham blue SG melody maker beautifully aged…I had the cash available, but it didn't make me any more excited than guitars I own…This is almost worse than GAS. I have had it for months. A friend has a great guitar that I almost bought on here, and I can't get excited about it now. WTF is this state?

"Dream guitar" is relative - once you play it, sometimes things change.
I played a couple authenticated Hendrix Strats in the 90s before the market absolutely took off. I wasn't floored.
Played guitars that had so much wear on them (from use) that somebody loved them. I didn't.
Got stuff that I would have bet money I'd love...and didn't.
And bought things on a whim that turned into some of my favorite instruments.
If they don't move you, they don't move you, doesn't matter how much you think you should like it.
It's like meeting that celebrity you had the hots for as a young person...and they're about as exciting and sexy in person as ....a jar of paste. And they hit on you, but you just don't feel it.

The arms seem to get shorter but the pockets seem to get deeper every year. Why does the cost of living go up more than the wages ever do, and it puts a big dent in the gas budget?

Yep. My fave was the right price and I just expected functional, not drop dead. Try anything you can afford, if you can actually afford it. If you gig, try anything you can afford that you would be caught dead playing out--if you can't pull off that Hannah Montana model, best to leave it alone.
And, yes, I'm gear-money broke, too. (Good thing my dogs are cute.) My BST goes on Reverb when I have the time to post it all.

I guess its my turn, huh?
Been unemployed for 6 months living off of savings until it dried up. Then sold a bunch of stuff. Started with a couple pedals. Couple guitars. A few amps. Nearly got evicted but didn't (thanks guys!!!), finally got some interviews. I have a job starting on Monday-a week too late IMO. I'll probably try to get a second job.
Once I'm good and stable, I'll be buying from B/S/T. Y'all tend to have Earthquakers and cool stuff. I'd -like- to buy new, but I think it'll be a while before I feel like I can. Used pedals is better than no pedals.

I feel like I deserve some rewarding for exhibiting fiscal self restraint when everyone was unloading FZ-2s on BST a little while ago.

HighFive![/reward]
no srs good job. showing restraint is good/smart. I almost bought a Pod while I was unloading some pedals at GuitarCenter but its like NO they will come around again (besides AM-4 > Pod)
