The only companies that are related officially are Emperor, which recently restructured into Tyrant; in between those, for a short while, they were making Dictator (note that the words emperor/dictator/tyrant are synonyms). I'll always like the Emperor classic look but apparently the Tyrant design is better in a lot of ways. Atlas isn't officially related to Emperor, but was started by an ex-employee, and the design is almost exactly the same as the classic Emperor cabs.
Then there are a ton of similar companies, making Emperor-inspired designs featuring overbuilt natural wood designs: Dominion, Olde Crow, Mountain, Monolith (RIP), etc. Plus amp companies making similar stuff, like Verellen.
+1 for the Dominion guy making sweet stuff, especially relatively smaller cabs like 1x15s. I've never played them but I hear they sound great. As for looks, they're awesome. Incredible colours. My favourite one was one he built to match a vintage church organ with the right grill cloth and everything.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about Black Market Custom and Janice, who make cabs aimed at pop-punk and emo players rather than metal ones. BMC in particular can literally make anything you want.

interesting.
i felt like there were some legal battles over the rights to the name or something like that. hopefully the downtime isn't the ultimate nail in the coffin for those guys.

Has anyone here bought or even used one of those Tyrant cabs? They look pretty cool, but how is the quality and sound out of these? There isn't a lot of information to be found on them, aside from a few pictures of Buzzo using them.

The one dude (of the two main dudes, I think) that left the company was the guy that came up with/had the rights to the name. Which is why they switched to "Pol Pot Amplification" or whatever it was for a bit, which was not great, but I don't think they ever stopped building cabs.

I still can't tell whether you're consciously a (cleverly) sarcastic motherfucker or if it's just a natural thing that you can't turn off.
