So Noise Floor question. Everything works great the first time! YES! Except there were no pots in my kit. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :) Luckily I had some extras. Anyway, I find that the Noise Floor is pretty unpredictable. I find a setting I like then the bastard goes away! Haha. Like it starts going all wacky and crazy. Oscillates like nuts too on certain settings. I've only tried it with my active bass though, so I'm going to give it a whirl with the passive and see if it does the same thing.

Another note is there's a loud pop when the switch gets engaged. Would that indicate that I'm not grounded right somewhere? I think I know the culprit if that's the case.

Sooooooooo listened to a demo and mine sounds NOTHING like the demos. Weird. It's uncontrollable craziness. Super confused...Maybe I wired the pots wrong. I'll double check that in the morning. I did notice the pots are a bit too big to fit in the position, so you have to turn them upside down, which shouldn't matter, but huh. lol.

I get sounds, LED, bypass, everything. Just sounds nuts. Like it fades out from a usable sound to something insane.

My shoegazer kit is pretty much unusable noise. Went through and checked it all out, can't tell if I just don't like the pedal or something beyond my experience is the issue. Led won't turn on though powered, missing a few components. Kinda bummed!

Sorry to say, you can't trust most of the pre-takeover demos. Components and even circuits were constantly in flux, and there's a pretty severe lack of real audio online. We're slowly working through, trying to get "official" demos up for things, but even when we have them, the old demos have so many hits that our new accurate videos have a hard time getting on even the first page, much less the top.

ANYWAY.... Your Noise floor... You should be able to turn the noise and chaos toggles off for a nice old fashioned Soda Meiser...

Yea I'm almost wondering if I somehow have the toggles wrong even though I'm looking at the diagram and have it wired as such? The chaos toggle seems to work fine but the noise toggle doesn't do much, or is very subtle.

The volume control acts kind of weird to a certain point. So it could be my pots too. I used ones I had on hand.

These's are just normal Alpha pots right? Just want to double check.

The pedal works, but by itself it's a bit uncontrollable and insane in any setting, with let's say an overdrive pushing it, it's much better or a fuzz behind. The switch pops a LOT though. I'm going to have to check my solder joints as well. My iron is a POS. So that could be an issue. haha.

It's doing something! So I call it a success! :)

oh and LOL at the fact that I'm out of 3dpt switches on the off chance the switch is bad and it appears that most people are out of stock of them right now! WTF!

I'm going to build up my Legend of Fuzz. I loved that pedal and can't wait to get some Dwarfcraft love from it as well!

I received my VFM kit yesterday. It was my first build and it took me about 2.5 hours. Everything worked fine once I got it all put together. The only problem was the pots were not included in the kit so I went and got some to use in the mean time as I couldn't wait to get started lol. I did email yesterday to notify the pots were left out. I figure I'll hear back soon enough.

I realley expected more trouble for my first build and other than having some ugly wiring it turned out great and sounds awesomely nasty.

Built mine as well!

I'm pumped. It's the first build I've completed that worked right when I plugged it in and didn't need a week of diagnosing dumb mistakes.

For reference here's my Bit. I had trouble with the LED. OMG. I always wire LED's wrong. I could wire 50 in a row and still do it wrong. They are my nemesis. Haha. Got it working. It was a cold solder joint because my iron tip is fucked because I fucked it with overheating it. LOL

broken toothpick not part of the build. :)

Got a tiny bit sloppy with the LED connection there, but it's fine. I ran out of the right size heat shrink. Sigh

Aen and Louise will this be it for the kits? I had a blast doing these! I'd love a 4 knobber of anything if you're willing to do those. If not, totally cool. :)

A quick question about my Hyperion. I've been playing it awhile now and I love it, but I'm noticing that when it's on there's still a 'clean' signal coming through. Its not a big deal because it sounds awesome like this anyway but I do want to fix it. Does anyone have an idea of how I would go about fixing it? Presumably it's something up with the bypass switch but it looks fine and I have no idea how the wiring on that switch works so any pointers would be helpful. Thanks!

They should all look like this.... I'd love a gold one with an ocarina on it though. To match the N64 Masters Edition copy

I just finished building all the kits and they were real fun to do. I have one question about the BIT. It sounds really cool, but different to the youtube demos I've heard. When pregain is past noon it will start doing the starved dying cackle thing. I love dying cackle and don't want to change it, but is it supposed to do that? With pregain on full it will only do some flatulence when hit really hard.
Checked the wiring and parts loads of times and the only difference is that I used a 1% 5-stripe 10K resistor because there was one missing from the baggie. Should not make a difference.

That honestly sounds about right. With the pedal up all the way it becomes gated (not sure if that's what is actually happening or if it's being starved), so when it's up all the way you have to play a bit harder or stack it to get a good effect. I'll run it with an overdrive, no issues at all. I play an active bass too though, so the high output keeps it from doing that too much.

I don't think the resistor would have made that big of a difference.
