As a bass player, I have to play on a stool or standing. Cannot use any other kind of chair, couch...etc. I cannot move my arms the way I need to in order to play otherwise. It actually took me quite awhile to become accustomed to playing on a stool at all, now I love it. The ONLY thing I'd like better is a high back stool. That would be perfect. Then I'd have back support too.
