Uhh, 2014, I think we have a winner!

I played tuba in school from 99-2002 and got a bass guitar in 2004 or 5...I don't know if you could call it "playing" though.
Tuba was all kinds of fun. Wish I could get one and run it through fuzz.

Played in school drum band from 98-01.
Started getting acoustic lessons in 02. Electric in 03.

Also somewhat approaching old. Sux.

Not including band in school, I got an electric bass in '98...switch to guitar in '03...so....16 years...old enough to drive....huh.

Got my first bass in tenth grade, my first guitar in twelfth. Not sure when the first keyboard showed up, and I starting getting into pedals about seven years ago. Played around with everything but still considered myself a bass player until about two years ago when I really started mostly playing keys and guitar. I rarely ever play bass anymore.

So all told it's about 19 years, and I honestly don't understand the concept of feeling old, so...

I first played guitar in the fall of 6th grade, which was ... uh ... 24 fucking years ago. Jesus tap-dancing christ. I got my first bass sophomore year in college, so that was 16 years ago.

er, over 20 years. Electric guitar. Um, 22 or 23 years, I think.

I still have my first electric guitar. In real terms (inflation wise), it's probably the most I've paid for a guitar.

My first effects pedal was an Ibanez wah/fuzz (WF10?). (Actually, strictly speaking, my first pedal was Boss SD1 [edit: DS1] but I thought it was crap so it took it back the next day.)

Been playing for 14 years, I got my first guitar (Fender acoustic, can't remember the model) around Christmas time. Then I got my first electric the following year, a super shitty Morgan Stratocaster. Man, those where the days.
