The type of music I listen to is mostly the type that feels like you should listen all the way through.
So 95% of the time, I start with the first song and end with the last.
I enjoy when an album is carefully-crafted and ordered with intent.
So I feel like listening to it out of order can detract from that sometimes.

However, my strictest rule is that I never ever listen to music on shuffle.

I always do for the most part. Just something I've always done. I don't cherry pick songs unless it's something short where I'm about to leave to go do something or I'm sampling out some new bands on youtube. But saying as in pulling out something to listen to while online, reading, painting, or just listening... I go for an entire album.

Yeah I do this too. As much for convenience as anything else.

I enjoy Yes. I don't listen to them all that often but I do listen to them when I'm in the mood. Usually them Spock's Beard who wish they were Yes and I pull out King Crimson when I'm in that mood.

When you guys realize how fucking insanely good Cygnus X-1 Book 2 is I will remember all this Rush hate. However we will be here to welcome you into the realm of true prog.....

Did you guys even see the documentary? How can you possibly hate on them, even as people? They are like the coolest fucking dudes around.....

I actually don't have a problem with Rush, or Prog. I just brought up Yes because, you know, not every album has to be a massive prog masterpiece where each track is meticulously sequenced.
