Honestly if I could get that Futura SG without the Min-E tuners or whatever in that champagne faded finish....I'd rock the piss out of that.

Yo, saw a SGJ at GC for $350 (like, whaaaaaaaat), but then immediately found out what that E-tune is. Oh my god, so dumb and also, something that looks like I'd break it immediately.

I don't think SGJs come with Mine-E-Tune. At least mine didn't.

I have no problem with the inlay.

False.

Dot, block, 'zoid or GTFO.

Are you a fan of Kustom amps naugahyde look?

Woah now, leave Kustom out of this! But yeah, the inlay does seem kinda silly...

This one did? But consider yourself fortunate.

Shit, you're right. Reading is fundamental.

It's not quite the clueless Gibson I'm used to (where're all the neon metallic colors and stupid "innovations"?)

I agree w/ Mudfuzz that it's a bit boring, but I think Gibson's best when they stick to their classics (cause look at what they do when they don't... :erm: ).

The 12th fret inlay is really unnecessary / gimmicky.

Gotta admit, that seafoam green Les Paul is really, really pretty. It's weird to kind of want an LP.

can't you just rip the e tuner off and defecate on it

why would that dissuade you from purchasing a $300 mahogany with rosewood fretboard made in america guitar

SGJ is a clear winner, but what the fuck goes on with these knobs?
Are all these pretty white chicks sweating their boxes out so hardcore playing that turning a fucking knob has become an ordeal requiring knurls?
(seriously, there are a lot of white women on these catalog pics, whats the target demographic here? Really, I wanna know)

That fucking EB body shape needs to be a fucking guitar, ASAP.

Because I don't want to buy something and have to immediately work on it?

Man, I immediately work on pretty much every guitar I ever buy lol, always. Except the EGC cuz I could request exact specs. Minor shit tho, hardware, etc. I wouldn't mess with removing that ridic robot tuner or buying a guitar equipped with it in the first place. I like that the SGJs are free of that nonsense, just really stripped down, inexpensive, and solid guitar.

There's another line without the robot tuner, the "2014 Special" stuff but they're like $899 and the only real differences I see are shittier stock pickups IMO (490R and 498T) and a "vintage gloss" finish which is sorta semi-gloss and pretty cool. Oh, and weird caramel colored pickup rings and toggle plate/washer. That large price jump isn't based on much else that I can see...

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electri ... ecial.aspx

Anyway, enough with the robot tuning Gibson. Also, do these things take string gauge and tension into account or just start cranking away to whatever tuning the user fancies?
