Glueing complete! Well, its stuck. Left it clamped because i believe strongly in overkill, and because i had an issue previously with glueing the nut :P but still not stringing it or anything for a while, cause the glue carton says not to stress the joint for 24 hours.
Anyway, pics

Uhhhh good question! It just says Fibre Sheet, so im guessing fibreglass of some sort. Also says its "as on Gibson guitars".... So its that :P It looks like itll take on the same texture as my Flying Vs headstock once its properly treated and i toss the clear layer of laquer over it

Okay, last post that isnt about a major leap forward, i realise im kinda spamming :P
Nearly finished the paintjob, and i start to notice oodd, tiny globules of moisture on the guitar... It was raining so i had to stop half way through D: its dine though, the finish feels amaaaazing in the places where the colour layer is complete, eve without the final clear coat... i love it already

Sounds good. Glide your hand over every inch of the guitar feeling for dimples left by the moisture drops.

Yeah, i id that, and actually the few that there are just swept off to the side. The finish must have been just dry enough :P But daaaaang i never knew how good it would feel to have the finish on... *strokes the still unfinished guitar all day*
[EDIT] Scratch that, i cant do this. Im giving up try to do the finish outside, its just too fucking annoying. Flies, dust, everything just gets on it. Cant get a smooth finish, and im all out of paint. It was fine yesterday for doing the front, but as soon as i try to do the back flies come out the fucking works and land all over it.
Sorry for ranting, im just annoyed that every time i think im about to get something major done, something goes wrong :P first the fret, then this finish being an arse...ugh

Something you can do on the cheap is to lay down a coat of finish and then put an open upside down cardboard box over the guitar to keep debris off of it.

Wow been a long time since last update, but the finish is complete! Im fixing down the pickups and guard so that they are held in place while i solder all the electronics together, so some nice pictures came out of it!

Ugh, aint she pretty? Not quite done, the neck feels weird, so i gotta make that more playable, and the headstock veneer still isnt fitted... But she is playable and thats all i care about!
