FYI: All the Lastgasp stuff is on sale at Perfect Circuit Audio. :joy:

Because I have a serious fuckin' problem, I bought a Misty Cave.

The Toxic Plant robs a lot of lows  but is otherwise awesome!

To clarify and obfuscate: I don't see the lows' thievery as a problem with this pedal, given its whacky nature and all.

Misty cave is fucking awesome, hope you enjoy it dude
It *seems* expensive for a 3 knob echo pedal but god damn if it isn't the most unique effect in that realm. The moment I plugged mine in I had zero regrets
I need to mess around with CV sources more actually
P.s. it pairs perfectly with the sandstorm too, UG knows what's up

:joy: to that whole sentiment. I have an easier time blowing $$$ on something unique, and I definitely get that every time my paycheck disappears toward Lastgasp.

I hopped on the sale here to get a 88 and a Tone Axe, thanks for the heads up. Woulda got a Lluna too but someone else got it sometime between coffee and the bus ride to work.

I really want to hear how you like the Misty Cave with bass Nad. :poke:

The Misty Cave is awesome on bass! :joy: It had a 5 minute learning curve, nothing but love since then.

And the Toxic Plant isn't murder on the lows, but it does take a little manipulation to retain them.

Both together are pretty damn awesome, fumbling about with two knobs and one dose of feedback is fun!

I think I'm going to build an LAL-only Noise Accessory Board to go with my regular or jumbo boards. :joy:

Hey nad, what do you think about the Sooper Fuzz? You've got some other Super Fuzzes right? How does it compare? Been thinking about getting one.

The 46 is my favoUrite of the Lastgasp stuff I have, I use that one the most in band settings. It is fantastic! I've gone through a few Bass-based Super Fuzz Things over the years, and have found two keepers: the Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz and this here Sooper Fuzz 46.

Mode 1 is a snarling beast that easily bites through a mix. Mode 2 is the heaviest matter in the universe. No seriously, the low end is utterly obscene, rumbling and clawing through with a ridiculously peaky mid-scoop that bathes the streets in the blood of unbelievers. I generally use Mode 1 because that is just my size, with Mode 2 being reserved for when I need to be heavvvvvvvyyy.

The Katanasound gets kicked off my board every so often, but always returns, because that is the best usable deep space fuzz that I have experienced, for my own personal experience. Perfectly controlled feedback, a clean blend to die and/or kill for, and a certain girth that sits in a mix, not atop nor beneath it.

I have also used/abused a Robot Factory Tentacle Love Super Fuzz and the Verellen Big Spider. Both of those are great, but the Katanasound is almost too perfect for this particular style, and with the 46 being its wild redheaded stepchild, I have truly found my own Ace and Gary!

Cool, thanks. Might have to pull the trigger eventually, miss having a superfuzz around. The way you described it, this is perfect. And it matches my 88.

Fully confirmed at doom/pop rehearsal last night: Misty Cave on bass in a mix? GREAT SUCCESS! :joy: The band loved it as well: "don't sell that one!"

Toxic Plant works great as a noisemaker, but doesn't have enough lows to keep up for "normal" bass usage. Oscillo 88 is a little like that as well, but you can compensate with extra volume and/or certain settings. But really, those two are freakout effects anyhow, trying to use them for something they weren't intended for is a foolish endeavor, one that I will likely only ever try... a few more dozen times! :poke:

Tone Axe got in today. So nuts, it sorta reminds me of PLLish tones, I wonder if that's what it is based on. Keeps the low end well with a bass, doesn't keep up with really fast playing, but I wasn't hoping it would.

I don't think so, The Tone Axe has been around for a lone time, at least 8 years, and it is what it does which is what is right there in the name. Personally I like it better than I do PLLs, and to me it is the best replacement for a moog freqbox at least for the basic functions and sounds :idk:
