This Sunn/Ulver LP fucking sucks. Side A sounds way too forced with the trumpets and shit they added in post production (it's not bad, but not good), and side B sounds like My Dying Bride at it's gayest.

I'm pretty tolerant and open minded but I am just baffled by this record and the praise it's getting.

Haha I was going to come in here and say that I was also surprised at how different it was but that I enjoyed it quite a bit

I can't speak for anyone else but I only said I liked it because I figured it was cool to like Sunn. If the opposite is true and hating Sunn is actually the hip thing to do then I'm on board with it.

Well to be fair I like My Dying Bride a lot more than Grails....

I thought this sucked. Sounds like a bad b-side from Shadows of the Sun. Then there are some guitars for a few minutes.

Absolutely baffled by the press this has been getting.

I don't know - maybe I like it that much because Shadows of the Sun is a strong contender for my favourite Ulver album

I liked that record quite a lot, but this just seemed like the stuff that didn't make the cut.

No accounting for taste and all that though..
