Low gain black russian big muff has solidified my board, it just stacks well with everything.

I just like to hit it and destroy shit, so generally, I play nice with muffs, and they treat me right.
Fucking Ape Blaster rules harder. Proceeds the simean...
Lately I've gotten into those nice earthen psychedelic sounds Elder have going on, especially on Dead Roots Stirring. Half fuzz, half clean, all grit. Sounds like the seasons wanted to grow a forest in your brain and then battle for who would control it.

Agree. My favorites are Superfuzz variants, and the Malekko B:assmaster has enough tweakability to do everything for me. I usually don't like 'smooth' fuzz that much (Muffs, IMO). I want texture, and good note definition. No mud!
Also love:
Mountainking Megalith (absurdly heavy)
Earthbound Audio Supercollider (instant "Sleep"... people say it's a Muff but I don't belieb it)
Fender Blender (ouchy goodness)
D*A*M Meathead (vicious)
Mock Cooter Stew Fuzz (you know)

I love all my fuzz equally.
Except muff fuzzes. They might be my favorite. My Pharaoh and Russian Muff just sound so magical.
Also love my Ritual (can go balls out amp punishment or clean it up for a funky OD), Dirt Transmitter, and Algal Bloom (TEXTURES SO NICE) but the muff is just the best.

I've owned/played quit a few fuzz pedals, and the Pharaoh is permanently stuck to my board. So many sounds, and stacks so good.

Oooooh, I've wanted to try the FZ-2, I may have to steal that from you for a few to try it out.

I like fuzzes to sound like electricity most, it's a texture thing. While I like smoother/thicker sounds like muffs and FF types really my thing is stuff like superfuzzes and Ibanez standard and new designs like Last gasp and MASF does. The Katana Sound Super Bass Fuzz IS my favorite pedal because it is such a swiss-amy-fuzz with all the functions it has and it sounds huge! and sits in the mix where I can do a blues/american primitive/americana gig and turn around a do Doom stuff of punk or pop/alt or classic rock or just make funny noises.

Guitar: muff muff muff. I have a v4 op amp that I love. I kind of want a clone built so I can use the og less to preserve its life.....
I have a tricked out ssstampede and rat clone being built so we'll see where I'm at in a month or so.
I'm probably selling my IC Muff clone, let me know if you want it.
Cheers mate - I'm a little tight for disposable cash right due to some unexpected home renovations and wanting to buy my wife a nice Christmas gift so this is a long term project... but thank you my friend!!!
I mean I
could buy your Muff and go down the street and buy a Red Muck Fuzz too if I wanted to cause I'm a fuckin' baller, but I'm choosing to be prudent you know what I'm sayin'

Switching from lap steel to guitar to bass, it all depends on context for me.
Lap steel fuzzes: Fuzzhugger Phantom Octave, Devi US, Devi OK clone by Dirge
Guitar-Devi Bit, Fuzzhugger Fuzz III, Creepyfingers Creepyface, MXR Blue Box>Danelectro Grilled Cheese Distortion
Bass: Fuzzhugger Fuzz III and Phantom Octave, Creepyfingers Creepyface.
Fuzz types:
Huge, single-notes sounding like mangled chords, squawkiness on the decay, filtered fuzz, gated/smooth/synth-lead tones, hissing, spitty, nasty, octave-y
*Most of the fuzzes mentioned above sound amaze-balls through a Danelectro Grilled Cheese Distortion.
