In other words, who cares what note you're playing, because the crowd certainly as hell won't be able to tell if all you're putting out is super lows. Why have different notes at all? Just play A, A, A, A. You might as well.

In my experience, the sound guy would just say "cool, that's three channels I can just put at zero; easier for me" Or maybe that's just how sound guys mix bands in the Northeast.

a demanding situation for a fuzz pedal to cut through, BUT with a loud volume boost enough to bring the back line to unity level with house PA... (and in my bands case It'd be really easy since there'd be only drums and the synths to catch up. )

A is a good note.

I ain't a fan of clean blends either. Will see what it sounds on the Diabolik.
Everybody seems to be shouting about the TA!FM, but I really didn't dig the sound much on the videos I found. And the footprint unfortunately is a bit big...

i don't.... think you're in my hood? are you in my hood?
It's more of an esoteric bass lunch conducted through astral projection.... more of a philosophical "lunch" than say, getting soup, sandwiches and coffee at a deli.....
What is...
lunch

FWIW, I'm mostly anti-blend as well, but don't mind it on the B:assmaster because the fuzz is so grindy and cutting that the blend at anything less than 50% just brings a little fullness.
Of course, I also typically find myself using it without any blend on most of the time. But HYPOTHETICALLY I could maybe see myself using it in that context. Maybe.

Can't really recommend almost any Muff or a Tone Machine, those are all too midless to me
I'd go for a Rat, but you said you already have a Rat's Tail?

Maybe try running it on lower gain?
Also Fuck OD/Mini are great for bass and from my experience cut rather well

Especially the Mini, which can get more fuzzy even with relatively low gain due to the Bias knob

I love the Rat Tail don't get me wrong. It's awesome at what it does, i.e. being aggressive

I'm looking for a second fuzz in the more smooth and creamy range. A Muff really. But with mids I guess...

Earthquaker Devices Hoof fuzz, Blackout Effectors Musket, or my personal favorite that isn't going anywhere, the Fuzzhugger(fx) Bass Bloom.

The Northeast sounds
fucked up man... I'm from Toronto..... even two basses are a controversial thing and we have a crack addict mayor that talks on live TV about eating his wifes pussy.....

Well, I'm not sure if the Diabolik is the answer then...very little smooth and creamy about it.
I think part of the problem is the mid character of those pedals is a lot to do with what makes them smooth and creamy. Something with more pronounced mids is not going to sound so smooth anymore.

A thought occurred - have you tried using a buffer?
