do they sound pretty similar? like... in the same direction of sound character?

Yeah, this strikes me as an ambient studio tool that would probably be great paired with various instruments or vocals. Seems like these verb nuances would just get lost live tho...

that's a very good point. for example, i use a tera echo and the main ratchet effect disappears when the drums and cymbals kick in. still cool, though.Holy Schnikes wrote:Seems like these verb nuances would just get lost live tho...

NOPE.
i mean, yeah. maybe.
but that's what i thought about the TimeLine at first, and i love how many weird and different sounds it has in it.

I like the reverb machine in logic x. Seems like more for less, i don't ever see the need for all that verb. But what evs it ain't bag

Yeah, I feel kinda cold towards this. Studio, probably useful to have all that, but I doubt I'll ever own one of these. Delay and modulation seem like effects that work well with so many different expressions, but for reverb I generally dig something simpler.

Yeah, i mean nobody is gonna use ALL the algorithms but those big strymon boxes are insanely versatile. I think it's worth the money just to have all those possibilities, plus their whole preset system makes it easy to switch between sounds live anyway. The only downside to me is that they're not very intuitive to tweak on the gobehndy wrote:NOPE.

yah. i'm not a huge reverb fan. but the weird kinds always tickle me. and a box that has that possibility AND the save spots to easily go back to one use wiggy sounds? yesh please.

I've always kind of wanted a Space but never got along with Eventide stuff as much. I have a Pitchfactor I like, but all my MIDI control stuff is oriented toward the Timeline and Mobius and will integrate seamlessly with the BigSky. Definitely looking forward to this!

Re: Strymon BigSky
I'd def hold out for the BigSky. The Space has some annoying quirks like banks that take forever to load and some and obnoxious treble frequencies that accompany many settings. The shimmer sucks too, sounds way better on the Strymon demo vid.jmoote wrote:I've always kind of wanted a Space but never got along with Eventide stuff as much. I thought I was set with a source audio dimension reverb, but once I round up the skrilla I'm absolutely going to get the big sky.jwar wrote:Fuck you guys. I want one. HARD. Sounds awesome. Verb on bass=pure sex.
and timeline.
and mobius.
and have no more skrilla.
