my thoughts exactly, the akai is amazing for getting things perfect for small loops. I would fill it up with one main loop though on extend and could not overdub!
but for small pieces, it's awesome. the feature that let's you remove all the layers except the main is the coolest thing about it. russian circles uses that all the time.
so maybe I'll keep it? I just wish there was a way to mod it for using a bigger memory card or something... anyone???
would you say multiple xt xpresses would quench my needs vs the multiple akai's / ???. or is having the akai and the xt's worth it? I was confused if you sold the akai, then got it again and then the xt's...
on a side not I just received word from FX DR. that he can switch out the switch on the SMMH / DMB to a soft tap AND ALSO add an external port to use your own momentary tap stomp
which opens up so much with the looper on the SMMH I think to time things up right

Got rid of the akai because I was doing too much looping and now I'm back and using it a minimal amount for small fragments of songs or very noisy build ups. The jam sync options seem very fun.
How do you all feel about the Jamman Express XT vs the TC Ditto? I just sold my Hazarai since I never used the delay settings and I want a cheap looper that does a similar enough thing. Suggestions?

maybe I'll keep my akai, I like the thing and it works well. hell a lot of people use them still.
I just didn't like the line 6 dl4 I had very much though the looper is better, the sound not so much.
so is the akai still the best live looper, but very limited. anybody have a different take on this?
Use what you like and quit reading so many bad reviews... People want different things, figure out what works best for your style... Loopers can do so many things that it's hard to say one is better for this or that... I use the 2880 as a 4 track that I can loop, I have no problem looping with the El Cap or the Flashback and will be getting a Ditto soon to add to all of it...
I can see that as well. I like pedal's issues and how to overcome them creatively.
just trying to find a looper like the akai I guess with more time then for now.
I want that EHX when I can afford one and not want to eat it. the only downside of that thing for live looping is no way to stop recording and start playing the loop.
unless you know a way then that's awesome.

I watched a dude on youtube do a Hazarai loop session and it was great. If it weren't so large I'd love to try one out in general some time, I've heard nothing but good things about them.
Been debating on letting my DL8 go to pay for my El Cap.
I love that the DL8 is true stereo, but at the same time I still have my DL4 which I'm never getting rid of that is also stereo (I dont think its true stereo though like the DL8) and can do a lot more.
I dunno.
