the fz-2 has made me realize how fucking ugly i can sound.

My Way Huge Swollen Pickle. It was my first fuzz ever.

Since that, I'd say my Dirge Rat and my TC Electronics Nova Repeater.

I'd say the jamman looper (2 pedal version). It has completely transformed how I play and think. It helps me come up with so many more ideas. It's awesome.

Regular delay sound on the Lunar is more tweakable than the Moog. I haven't been able to play the Lunar on my current setup so it's hard to compare them in terms of which is darker/clearer/etc. I should get it back soon and can record you some comparison clips if you'd like. You're also welcome to play mine for a short bit while it's still on your side of the Atlantic.

Is your Lunar on a tourbox?

I first found out about guitar pedals in grade 6 ,my buddy had a russian big muff fuzz.
That lead me to want to find what *every* pedal did.
We found some old shit like a Doctor Q, old boss phasers and flangers that my buddies stoner friends would bring over to jams.
I read about pitch shifters, not hearing them but wondered about how they could sound, holy shit, pitch shifter, sounds intense.
One day I went to a shitty local music store and found one while my pre-pube mind was still pretty much virgin. The boss PS-3.
Somehow my dad and the store clerk got in a price negation, which was intense, I think I had 60 bucks or something....
I couldn't believe it but my dad's persistence paid off and I walked out with the pedal....
That was around 98' or so, that pedal then enthralled me, only ending up on ONE song for my first band.

I actually wrote a good ole harmy central review for the pedal as the fucking weird developing twat I was.
The Long short of it, That pedal still excites me some 14 years later.......

Dude, I love my ps3. I bought mine new back when I was prep-pubed too. Although I didn't have someone to drop the price. Still have it, love the versatility. Been playing the hell out of it since.

If it is anything like the delay on the ps2, it is the most digital, crappy sounding delay with awful oscillations I've ever heard. In a totally AWESOME way

ohh the most cold and harsh digital delay I've heard, even those sound tank delays(was that Ibanez?) have a nicer sound.
There is definitely a charm to it eh?
Alot of modes carry that harsh thing through, and the tinny processed organ octave sounds arpeggied about....reminds me of the Rainbow Machine.

I thought about this some more.

Buying a Moog ring modulator definitely changed the way I saw sound. It made me a pedal geek, so while I wasn't not excited about playing when I bought it, it definitely got me going into a different direction.
The thing that influenced me the most is probably my Guild GAD-something acoustic. It is still by far the most complex and lovely instrument I own and playing it feels extremely "at home". When I bought that I was actually kind of stuck. I found it without looking for it. Had to wait for a train and passed the time in the music store. Boom! There she was. I love her, she is music.
Also my Roost amp gets me smiling whenever I play it. Again it was not bought at a time when I was stuck, but it made me take a giant step both musically and sound-wise. It's just "my sound".

I'm thinking about this more as well.

Monarch fucking blew me away, but then I switched to the Rusty Box and I've not looked back. The only pedals that I've found I can stack my Muff into and not sound like shit. They really got me to say 'wow' and take a step back from my dirty tones, as well as my clean tones even. They just sound GOOD when on. Always.

I'm with phanta in that the Moog Ring Mod was also a pedal that got me really fucking excited. There are just so many possibilities with it. half the time I just plugged it into itself and made noise swith it, but everything about it was extremely well thought out, and fluid.

Hmmm. Other pedals. Most recently I actually got to sit down with an extra Cave Dweller (I never actually had one for myself) and I was really floored. It's just fucking GREAT. And ambient as fuck and I really played for about two solid hours over the weekend just noodling around with it. Madbean really fucking did it with that delay. I just built it. The circuit itself is wonderful, and with my mix knob I really can do anything with it.

Another thing that got me excited: aluminum picks. Subtle, but there. Tears up my Jag but worth it. I love it.

I know I've mentioned it a lot recently, but the lunar echo has made me play a lot more. also, the fuck overdrive got me really excited for a while.
