I find that finding the right pickup for the right guitar is what counts more then type. Some guitars just don't like some pickups, like my Jackson.. I've tried p90s in it and while it didn't sound bad.. it didn't add anything to the guitar and my Mockingbird, it likes singles better then buckers... ect ect ect.

Ya know, everyone keeps asking me to design a humbucker and maaayyyybbbeee someday I will. IF I do I will do it kicking and screaming and I just don't find humbuckers to be the sound in my mind.
The only humbuckers I ever really liked were the gretsch supertrons. They were cool.
Otherwise I'm singlecoil all the way. I have been doing some research on EMFs (electro magnetic fields) and their affect on pickups (the noise and interference issues) and I think I have come to understand how to drastically reduce hum in a single coil.
It isn't an original idea at all but the fact that nobody really does it this way is weird.
Maybe I should try it out before I start talking about how weird it is that nobody does it this particular way! HA!

When I get to making them (which might not be for a few months) you sure will see them!
I have just finalized a design for a new bass and I think I will use this idea in making the pickups to test it out!
