Her voice reminds me of "Guyville" era Liz Phair, but her phrasing and the song structure remind me a lot of Sunny Day Real Estate. I will be listening to this a lot more!

Plus there is this one. I know you guys won't understand the lyrics. But it is awesome. It is the closing song to a concept album about breaking up. This is the one that is the optimist vision of the next relationship. He keeps naming places where he was and what he did there. And the refrain goes: This is where you can find me when you're looking for me, just in case you can't see I've been sitting right beside you for a while. I fucking love this song.

ths is a real love/hate story about me and a song

Finns of my age all know this. This is what my childhood in the 70's sounded like, because, well - a Finnish singer Taiska recorded her version and it made a top 10 hit in Finland. Eveybody lwas listening to it. And You can still hear it today in the radio every second day. The original was composed by Fabio Frizzi, better known for his work with Italian gore and suspense movies. Yeah, Fulci and sick shit like that. And 70's soft core erotica, like the Amore LIbero from when I was born, 1974.

...and I love to hate it. As I said. Or I hate myself when I can't get it out of my head and get sentimental and lost in memories. I actually used to always leave the room, when and where ever it was playing. So I guess, secretly, I love it.


And then in 2002 my old friends did a metal remake of it for a Finnish road movie that was a big hit. I felt as if they had betrayed me and made a personal insult. Knew it wasn't, couldn't help the feeling. Hearing of it made me actually tell them things I'm pretty sure they never were able to forgive me, about whoring for big recored companies.

And the hit also turned out to be a too heavy burden for guys when they realised the cover song made them a one hit wonder. Their own music was dark gothic metal and they couldn't put up with being lovely boys playing that lovely song. They gigged every little hole in FInland, played two gigs a day, worked mad for a year and a half, refusing to play that song if the until they had to book their own gigs again. They made good money for it though, so, well, You know. Not a bad thing. And got the feet in to the rotten kitchen of the Finish music biz. Not a bad thing either, if You can take it like a ho'.

The verse lyrics absolutely kill me and the solo really strikes the nail in the coffin. Simple solo, but one of the most emotional I've ever heard. But that's just my opinion.
