Annnd that gif is amazing
I did indeed catch Marriages, definitely dug them a lot. Their set was pretty short unfortunately, but they kicked some serious ass in that short amount of time. Seeing Dave Turncrantz play twice in one night wasn't too terrible either haha.
couldn't agree more

still can't get over how good all the bands were... Marriages are easily the best "opening band" I've ever seen..

Yes, that particular lineup can have that effect on you.
(Especially so because I saw them with Deafheaven + And So I Watch You From Afar)

She was fucking amazing. The best part is knowing that some of my favorite musicians right now are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
Best show I have seen, mainly because the openers were amazing. The bass player for Marriages (greg burns) was sick.

Agree 100%!
Yeah for sure... Greg Burns rips on bass.

Yeah, Brian Cook and Mike Sullivan walked around the floor pre-show. Nice dudes.

Exactly. They just hung out and had dinner with us. They watched each others' sets (which almost NEVER happens). They all said thank you (which also doesn't always happen).
Brian also spent a bunch of time explaining their amp set up and stuff. Can't wait til the next time they come through.

Went to see Chelsea play last night in Denver. Awesome live! But all you people who got to see Russian circles should feel damn lucky, because the idiots doing booking at the venue had
hands down two of the worst openers I have seen in a LONG time. Think bro's with laptops "playing" music that made me feel a bit like I was in one of those awful Smirnoff commercials...... Chelsea's band made up for it though

Edit: Oh, and I spotted that Shiva up there in her chain, though I'm not sure if I heard it used or not. . .

I feel super lucky to have seen RC live.
I absolutely hate when venues book terrible openers. It is there job to put together a good show, start to finish.
And would love to see her use the Shiva. I know her guitar player snagged the Surrender Dorothy we brought, too. Hopefully they will find their way onto the next record!

Yes! They played a couple new songs, and there were some strange and cool sounds coming from her guitar player, though I couldn't see his gear.
